The "Skeptic Community" as a whole has revealed themselves to be a gigantic joke.

These "Skeptics" first appeared to be pretty reasonable people (during the times of Gamergate to be specific). It turns out that they're fine with authoritarian methods as long as it doesn't interfere with THEIR personal interests. Everyone else's personal interests, though? The Skeptics seem to be fine with it.

Fuck 'em.
It seems like it what happens to every single issue/ideology hugbox, when growth stops, they turn on each other. Look at KiA, or Atheism+, the same thing happened. The "impure" get pushed out, the community figureheads start going more extreme. Not necessarily because they believe in the cause, but because they want to protect their power in the community.

RIP Harmful Opinions He's technically back, though no clue if he'll be making a proper comeback.

As far as heads on the chopping block go, the "Skeptics" that come to mind:
  • Shoe
  • Greg
  • Sargon
  • Vee
  • Kraut
  • Chris Raygun
  • Jeremy
  • Randomercam (and the HoneyBadgers)
  • Mundane Matt
I'm probably missing a handful, I can probably update the list later on.

Venti was the only major critic to go after June so far, and while it did point out a lot of hypocrisy, it didn't quite make waves like with Metokur's videos on Matt and Kraut. I figure that they'll inevitably do something dumb for everyone else to see, and end up drawing a lot more ire in the future. Though we can only wait and see when that will actually happen...

Redpill me on Chris Raygun - what did he do? Seems like your standard reddit personality.

It's amazing how Shoe was able to successfully sweep all of that Candid bullshit under the rug. I completely missed all of it at the time (again, I don't have Twitter, so it was easy for me to miss a lot of this stuff). Had I known, I most definitely would have started to turn on Shoe much sooner. Anyway, I'm glad to see Harmful Opinions back. I immediately subbed to his new channel.

Also, I remember that several months ago, Blonde in the Belly of the Beast posted a video addressing some things, and she ended up calling out Shoe and Armored Skeptic for being part of some kind of server that was aimed to basically accuse conservative personalities of being "Alt-Right." Blonde was one of their targets during that witch hunt, apparently (which stifled her YouTube subs for a while, according to her). How is the heck was Kraut exposed ... But these two weren't?

@StarkRavingMad Blonde is an alt-right pandering tradthot, to be fair. That being said, I don't recall ever hearing about Shuwu and Pregory being part of such a server. Did she say they were part of Kraut's server or was it a different one?

I like some of Chris's videos actually. But what I dislike is his aversion to recognize the hypocrisy of people in his "circle", such as Maddox and Mundane Matt. He seems like a fine guy in general, though I really wish that he could separate himself from the Skeptic™ Community.

Doubt it was Kraut's. They definitely would have gotten a lot of shit for it.

As for why no video on them, I think that it's mostly dumb drama that Jim's disconnected to. Unless he has a personal stake in it, like with Matt lying to him and others about the flagging, or the Honey Badgers talking smack about him on Twitter, it's too much information to cover. Even with the Mundane Matt video, there was a lot he had to go back and research on, as Matt himself was this massive rabbit hole to go down. Imagine having to do that with two people he doesn't follow.

It could be possible that they've got leverage on him, yet I find it highly unlikely.

Blonde is absolutely a traditionalist and a Nationalist for Western Culture ... But Alt-Right/white supremacist? Nah. Not saying I agree with everything Blonde says, but I'm pretty sure she's made it clear on what she is ... And what she isn't. Especially in the weekly podcast she hosts with Matt Christensen (who I actually really like).

Anyway, I found the video I was talking about. It was released in December 2017. It wasn't a server that Shoe and Skeptic were a part of (and even if it was, it definitely wasn't the Kraut server). It was, however, an attempt at dogpiling and witch-hunting for "wrong think":

Slightly OT - but this is the first I hear of an actual confirmed picture of Jim (the filtered one, not the German friend of Jade).

Not sure I buy that Shoe has anything on Jim, wouldn't she have humblebragged or at the very least given some hints about that at some point by now? I think it's more likely that Jim likes to mock the Skeptics as the group-think individuals that they are, until they start fucking with him (like Honeybadgers, Matt and to some extend Sargon).

Man, the Candid bullshit was some REALLY sketchy, Orwellian stuff. Talk about abusing the trust of your subscribers and fans ...

It would be great if Metokur did a video about it. It sucks how easily a lot of these "skeptics" were able to get out of hot water over it.

Nine times out of ten, if a youtuber is showing their face on a video, they are likely looking to become a internet mini-celebrity. That's the main goal, everything else is secondary. It's why you see so many youtubers when you dig into their past; find out they actually had different opinions of things in the past, or made videos that were the complete opposite of what values they hold now.

To those types of people, it's about trying to get e-famous, and making money. Gotta chase those likes and subscribers.

You can see in Junes past, she's been trying to get e-famous for YEARS, she chased every fad there was.

This hurts of how true this really is. I have noticed it as well but you said in a better way than I could have said it myself.
Some content creators like for example AmazingAtheist and Stefan Molyneux even made that 180 while they were already well-known people on the internet. Some people have no shame.

Meanwhile, on the "Shuwu screeches about TERFs" show part 3953:

For some context, this BlessedF2 person is a trans activist who screeches about TERFs 24/7, both on Twitter and on Medium, so it should come as no surprise that they get along. After all, she is (to quote Magdalen Berns) a social justice warrior in skeptic's clothing.

Apparently she's also sad over "bullying" Riley J. Dennis now:

Riley has a dick and is a bully. For shame someone stood up to someone who was telling lesbians they are wrong for their sexual preferences.

Call Mike Pence a bad man heroic
Tell girls into girls to suck dick also heroic.

I love how the "upsides" of trans women are all the features they keep... being MEN.

Ohhhh fuck off, Shoe.

White knighting Riley J. Dennis now? The same person who tried to make people feel guilty into having sex with trans people? The same person who feels entitled to have sex from anyone? The same person who ADVOCATES political violence?!

Shoe "collects" trans people. That's pretty much a given now. It's weird to say the least.

EDIT: Also, while I think that TERFS are pretty fucking crazy overall, they DO actually bring up some valid concerns about the "erasure" of biological women.

For instance, is it okay to just accept that a person who was born a man can compete in a women's sporting event just because? I really don't think that TERFS are being unreasonable or bigoted in this case ...

Raygun always reminded me of a dollar general Idubbbz with the whole camera zoom and he kinda tries to talk like him. At least that's how I see it.

Except it turns out he is cheating, and she's been cheating in order to have a safety net ready as well. #relationshipgoals

I'm always amazed when people are willing to date someone who cheated on their SO with them. Haven't these people's parents told them that if they cheat with you they'll cheat on you?
I guess I can't be upset about it because the eventual e-blowup will give me some good laughs.

I wonder if this smol stuff, the flirting (cheating?) with anything that moves, s&m, living apart, weird religion then 180 turn, and general perceived insecurity has anything to do with Greg's bicuriousity(?). I have to say I've known quite a few gay guys who tries to be macho hit on everything that moves and get into weird stuff before just giving up and accepting they're gay. Some of Greg's behavior is a near perfect mirror of theirs (minus the unbearability of course)
