I can’t really remember? But I did just make the stupid mistake of googling “invader Zim toilet paper” in this search for the truth. The artist’s comment sort of read like they were coming up with the idea on their own, though.

Ah, toilet paper. There once was a time when it reigned as the best code for mischief. Then Hitchcock showed a toilet to theater audiences, a few other things happened, and now most people don't even blink when bears peddle it. You know it lost its edge when even bears can't make you afraid of it, so good choice, random artist.

Anime can be diverse and good, but it requires to make sense not just do it for the sake of it. Cowboy Bebop and Jojos Bizarre Adventure are probably the best examples, both make sense to have diversity. Both move to several places populated by different people with its own unique taste, both franchises use music as a mechanism to expand what the audience know, both series are good in its own way.
Yet tumblrites like to pretend the only reason these series are revered is because of having a lot of brown people.
Most of those people wouldn't be able to differentiate good representation from mere tokenism even if their lives were at stake.

Tumblrites will give characters from media the signature 'ambiguous brown' tone in claims of it spreading diversity without even thinking of the possibility that 'brownwashing' these characters is, in itself, racist. Most media they attach to is anime, and take the usually Japanese characters to make their race wholly unknown to everyone viewing it, yet somehow it is furthering their 'diverse' agenda.

Sometimes even going to already diverse shows, like the aforementioned Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, and twisting the characters into another race that they didn't need to be since they already differ from the norm.

Ironically most of the people who do this aren't even non-white. They do this likely for the 'WOKE' points they'll receive from the white-but-totally-poc-supportive crowd.
