Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

It's worse since this is the cover art, which is supposed to look good so that it catches buyer's attention. If that looks like shit, god knows how bad the rest of it looks like...
Kevin Libranda did the redesign and is the artist so hopefully internals will be better than that woeful cover by Amy Reeder. But Marvel okay'd that cover, so it is anybodies guess at this point.

I still appreciate that they tried to distance her from Tony so she can have her own identity. It's a bit over-designed and has some questionable color placement but I'm certain you can find a decent design for her somewhere in it.
Agreed, it is a much better attempt for an identity rather than the previous 'she's iron man now, fuck you.' attempt, but something feels off about the suit design to me. It's similar to seeing the power ranger movie suits, over designed and... too busy? I've seen much more ridiculous and over designed shit in anime and manga so IDK what it is.

This tweet is baffling, what the fuck does she think a market is? It legitimately sounds like she thinks she’s entitled to readers regardless of the quality of a book.

It was touched on previously in the thread, but the lack of separation of content is a huge problem. Don’t keep slamming real world issues, violence and death into your kiddy books unless it’s at the most metaphorical level.

In a cartoonish, fun book, Robin’s a great fantasy for kids. He beats up bad adults! He doesn’t need powers! You could help Batman too! Do your best, fight for what’s right!

But if you take away the fantasy, it doesn’t work. Why the fuck are the bringing a nine year old tumbler to fight a super powered serial killer?

Holy shit, that is terrible. What a way to advertise your new number one with a character comic buyers already rejected and almost universally hate. I keep seeing more and more wrong with it; the ET body proportions, oddly positioned and bent arms that are different lengths because the artist ran out of room, the facial features that are too big and placed too high giving a long jaw and a head that just stops....

I don't really like the redesign, but it can be drawn competently.

It's the color scheme that bothers me the most. It looks way too busy.

Lol she's waiting on some sperg to make a video about how she's ruining comics so she can play the oppression card again.

She's the living personification of the autism feedback loop.

They probably chainblocked so many "bigots" at this point that they've effectively censored themselves from mainstream comicbook twitter. Nobody's gonna care about their callouts if they can barely make double digit likes/retweets between the same handful of freaks.

Oh neat, let’s harrass every publisher that appreciates any purchases from people related to Comicsgate:

I was born during a drought-ending rainstorm in November, but in life I am pleased with all sorts of weather. I have lived all my life in the San Francisco Bay Area and currently share my space with my husband, artist Brian Belew, my son Mateo, daughter Mina, cats Jenny Flint and Philippa Purrip (Pippa), and a very lazy bearded dragon named Crackers.

I graduated from San Jose State University’s creative writing program in 2008 with a Master of Fine Arts degree and was the recipient of the Marjorie McLaughlin Folendorf Award. In 2006, my short story “Panchita’s Sea Lion” won an AWP Intro Journal Award and was published in The Colorado Review.

In my fiction, from my early work in Strange Horizons to her comics in the anthologies Put The Book Back On The Shelf: A Belle And Sebastian Anthology and This Is A Souvenir: The Songs Of Spearmint & Shirley Lee, and Womanthology: Space, to my novel Half a Person, I strive to infuse a sense of magic even when about it is about the mundane.

From January 2003 until January 2012, I was editor-in-chief at the comics and graphic novel publisher SLG Publishing and I worked in sales, public relations, and marketing at Image Comics from January 2012 until April 2015.

In 2006, I received the Friends of Lulu “Woman of Distinction” award for my work in the comics industry. I wrote my “Life in Comics” column for Publishers Weekly for three years and explored the influence of pop culture on my life in “Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now,” a comic drawn by Brian Belew and published at Comic Book Resources’ Robot 6 blog. Currently, I review graphic novels Publishers Weekly and assist with marketing for the comics education company Comics Experience.

I love to look out windows and listen to The Smiths, have a deep, abiding fascination for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Cleopatra VII, share a birthday with three of my favorite people — Voltaire, René Magritte, and Björk — and wish I could grow up to be like Gabriel García Márquez.
This is some ‘smelling your own farts’ level smug.

Those are hellscape eyes. You can smell the brimstone from here.

Good on these publishers for not bowing to her assault, though. They'll rake in the money and she'll keep impotently screaming. Win-win!

Zoe Quinn’s comic will sell worse than her book. Calling it now.

edit: what kicked off this cow crossover? Tons of cows are coming out to talk about #cg lately. I haven’t seen anyone go after Zoe over her comic. Just seems like she’s doing her usual, fanning the flames to then cry about harassment for pity bux.

Jen has successfully started the very thing she keeps saying shes against, a harassment campaign. It wasn’t enough that Perter Simeti disagreed with her she now has to run him out of comics:

All because he wouldn’t call his customers Nazis. But remember there’s no blacklisting or harassment from their side.

A new account claiming to be part of ComicsGate did something that every anti-CG sperg has been doing since this autism fest started and apparently that was too far. The account, less than a month old, tweeted a video interview of the late Darwyn Cooke saying things that lined up with CG talking points and the widow (ironically named) @Nicest_Girl_Evr trew a fit blaming EVS even tho he didn’t have anything to do with it. Suddenly all the comic pros are tripping besides themselves to denounce CG as a hate movement. Which then started virtue signal pissing match between the autists.
TLDL - another day in the autism war.

Am I misreading or has she literally not been involved in the industry beyond this dumb slapfight since around half a decade ago? She's claiming "OH WOMEN AND MINORITIES HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS FOREVER" when all of this started YEARS after she left?
