I had a look at Pacer. I don't recall the executed summons being posted, so it is below. Apologies if I somehow missed it already being in the thread.
Maybe different in US, but here when we hire a process server to serve something, they always give us an affidavit with whatever they served attached as Exhibit A. Both the affidavit and the exhibit(s) must be sworn before a lawyer or commissioner of oaths. Then that affidavit is filed with the Court and that is to verify that service was properly effected. Someone can still dispute the affidavit and say service did not conform to the Rules, but it has to be an affidavit signed by the process server and SWORN TO by someone who authority to take an affidavit.
Assuming rules are different and this form is ok by the court, then we have the identity of who was served in California. So, I did a search for Venable LLP and they are a fairly large nationwide firm. But then I decided to search for Eric Prasad Venable LLP and only hit I find is this:
Yes, the receptionist coordinator accepted service on behalf of the firm who represents Taylor Swift. Yep, that's effective service right there!
Cant wait to see where all this goes. Either way the end results, whatever twists and turns this takes, will be Russell spazzing out!
I’m interested in how he’ll ask for damages too. Is that a document we’ll get to see? (Assuming he doesn’t discover the case was thrown out before he files it. )
I know absolutely nothing about the law and how all this works so I’m grateful we have so many lawfags who can explain.
Well, based in Canada so way different type of law, but generally anything filed with the Court is accessible to the public. Only way for it not to be is through a sealing order or prohibition. But there must be very compelling reasons for that to be granted.
So, short of it is, basically all the crap that Russell throws at the court, we will have the pleasure of reading and laughing at. I will post anything new that I see that others don't so let's hope he files all kinds of goodies for future discussion and chuckles on the Farms!
