In all honesty he seems to be a mediocre artist who made it big thanks to the edgy persona, early mover advantage and his connections on Newgrounds (?). (Also he seems to like the kids way too much. That's not healthy. )

An interesting contradiction I usually find with online artists is that, on one hand they proclaim that they are perverts and on the other hand they get all defensive that when somebody calls them out on it. "It's just drawings, man."

Actually a lot of times being talented comes with a lot of nasty side effects that can actually fuck people up pretty badly. I know I'm making it seem like a drug or medication, but when you have a gift that naturally makes you good at something it usually puts you in a pedestal in a way, and getting that treatment puts quite a bit of strain on the person. It's like people expect you to always be able do the things you're talented at perfectly and any mistakes you make can cause more damage to your career than it would to most people in your field. It's why a lot of the great talented minds in history were often plagued with serious mental problems and crippling addictions, like Hemingway or even Michael Jackson. Maybe Shad is a genuinely talented artist who couldn't handle the pressure of everybody's expectations so he instead began to focus solely on his vices and playing up a bad boy image as a way to deflect from his actual artistic skills to keep the pressure off and keep his love for his medium from burning out, or he's just a sick fuck that likes to throw around his sick fetishes to get attention. All I know is Shads a few dick girls short of a Vietnamese harem.

People can still have an existential crisis and suffer from clinical depression regardless of who they are or what they do. Even physicians, top-tier executives, and professors can get caught by this despite all of the hours they put in to give back something meaningful to the world, because they simply question how significant they really are. The pressures of their job, the expectations of those around them, and comparing themselves to someone or something more successful can factor into that too.

Also, depression doesn't always just stem from psychological and livelihood problems. Other times, depression can be a purely physiological issue that results from bad body chemistry, extreme and risky lifestyles (like constant isolation for years on end), or some disease that actively attacks the nervous system. In these cases you'd treat like any other health problem with some treatment plans, better lifestyle changes, therapy, and medications.

Yes you are completely autistic (both with that post and profile pic that underage creepypasta fans probably use), a person with a skill/profession/hobby they are good at can get depressed. When I became good at identifying certain insects my depression did not vanish into thin air.

Ok, that's not what I meant.
1. Whiteknighting is defending not attacking. At least is the definition Im familiar with and the one that is placed in the thread rules.
2. I'm not defending this creep. Both me and you probably find him equally disgusting.
3. I meant that I can see the position of people like SrPelo and Oney, who are friends with Shad and therefore empathize to some extent with them. Probably these guys are too fonded to him to see things objectively or have choose to ignore his most extreme content in favour of his friendship.

Briefly, I can see where Shad´s friends are because they know the guy not the persona. Them and only them where the ones I were referring in my comment. I have been mocking Shad as much as anyone else in this thread cuz I dont respect him.

In my experience with pro wrestling and other personal endevourse talent is just super fucking bad for you. I know so many pro wrestlers that no matter how clean their work is or how over they are it doesn't feel good because there's an inkling of improvement to be made or something was just slightly off with their last match or the crowds weren't into that new top rope spot and it all ends up compounding because they never let go of a failure, I think that's the real kicker, every person I know with talent including myself has at least minor mania aswell and can't let errors go and their mind starts getting fucky after a while due to a mix of failure artists block and spurts of sudden unhealthy creativity hitting one after the other.

I only really know this because I experienced it and it left me with some nasty fucking anxiety and I still have mania incidents where I start doing something then boom 12 hours is gone and I know more than a few people like that. Maybe talentened people just have fucked brain chemistry which is great for whatever talent they have but makes every day life a fucking nightmare.
