Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

I sense that there's a move in the backgrounds of the comics industry to get everyone out against Zack and Comicsgate. This really feels like Deja Vu from the GameJournosPros and the "Gamers are Dead" articles.

I wouldn't doubt that there's a private venue those exceptional individuals plot moves in, and all we need is for someone to pop the balloon and leak things.
Those have been confirmed for a while. The whole "What if we punch D&C?" thing came from one. Mostly pros talking through Facebook and Google hangouts.

I'm with you on that, they are starting to mobilize a bit more. I kinda wonder if Vox Day's little stunt wasn't coming from the other side too and they are salty that nobody actually went along with him.

I only say that cause he's pretty much comically over the top right wing from what I've seen.

I'm surprised to see Quesada doing this considering I haven't heard about him for awhile. Any guesses what brought him out?
Probably what Zack said; he's got some of the higher ups breathing down his and Cebulski's necks for the sad state of things and they feel that REEEing about online harassment will get them off their backs for now. But even if there was no Comicsgate, their sales are embarrassing considering it's Marvel...and that's not even getting into things like Waid's chicanery and the pros' general lack of professionalism towards customers. Where was Quesada's moralising about threatening livelihoods when all those comic stores had to shut down because Marvel publishes substandard material and forces them to go into debt ordering them to even be allowed a chance to get to the actually profitable merch.

Diversity hires are the variant covers of the current comic book industry: a novelty with a perceived value greater than its actual one which eventually lead to a downward trend in business.

I also wouldn't count out Discord/Slack, great for any autistic conspiracy. Either way, we need someone to leak the chatlogs.

Vox Day is for real (he has a thread here), and there's no way he would knowingly collaborate with SJWs on anything, he's very autistic and anal about that.

I do agree with you that they were clearly saddened that no one of the big wigs went along with Vox, especially EVS.

He's been around pre-GG? Cause that'd quash my theory right out but if he just showed up during GG that'd almost lend a small bit of credence to what I'm thinking.

I don't really doubt that he's for real though, it was just a dumb theory I had considering how they like to manufacturer oppression a bit.

Nicky Rackets has met a few worthy legal adversaries in comics since CG began getting traction, but nothing could prepare him for Edward Sellner:

Where did this slapfight begin? The Rob fiasco from a few days ago:

The smugness of an attention whore, asking how many subs and for him to donate $100 to PP for just 30mins:

The profound ignorance of that alleged burn is so jawdropping that I'm forced to conclude that comics people do not live anywhere close to the real world. Wow.

Reading this is like watching one of those cartoon fights where when the smoke clears it turns out both opponents are just punching themselves in the face.

I dunno, :powerlevel:maybe I'm biased since I have a lawyer in the family:powerlevel:, but I think it's more like those cartoons where the scuffle starts and the cloud begins then the hero of the story walks out of the cloud to watch his opponent beat himself up.

Same principle, though.

Why am I not surprised that Joe Q's getting his man-tits in a twist? It's giving me flashbacks of how contemptuous he was of fans who dared criticize One More Day, which the Spider-Man franchise has never quite recovered from.
"Spider-man's not relatable because he's happily married to a supermodel...but we CAN'T have him get divorced. I KNOW! Aunt May will get shot and somehow all the greatest minds in the Marvel Universe who cheated death themselves can't do anything about it. Well, it's it's ok, she's at peace wi-NOPE, he'll make a deal with fucking MEPHISTO and undo like 20+ years of character development! "

...and the less said about Peter's replacement love interest Carlie Cooper the better. She's named after Quesada's daughter for god's sake!

Quesadilla has a terrible reputation among Spider-Man fans. Probably the worst, even after considering Slott.

How do I win my daughters love? Got it! I’ll make her self-insert into Spider-Man’s (my self-insert’s) girlfriend!

That will make her love me.

Btw since then she’s been turned into a lizard, a giant spider and a goblin.

I dunno, regardless of his legalise being correct, it's still kinda sad for someone in a supposedly prestigious profession to be getting into internet slap fights with a comic book guy over petty internet drama in the first place.

Seems like the real "winning" move would've been to not get involved at all.
