Favorite 9/11 moments

Seventeen years later, endless wars abroad and reckless policies at home have produced annual deficits approaching $1 trillion. President Trump’s Republican Party will create more debt in one year than was generated in the first 200 years of America’s existence. And while the United States has been mired in endless wars and bloody occupations over the past 17 years, China has used that same period to aggressively develop economic partnerships across Asia, Europe, Latin America and Africa. Perhaps that is one reason China will soon overtake the United States as the world’s largest economy.
LOL all of a sudden, Democrats care about the national debt?

I'm still pissed about it getting Propeller Arena on the Dreamcast canceled. It was pretty much dog-fighting + Alien Front Online + Crazy Taxi, eventually the ISO got released but you couldn't play it online like originally intended.

All cause there was one fucking cityscape level where you could crash into the buildings.

I was in school that day. We were doing English assignments and suddenly the teacher got a call on her desk phone. She ran and turned on the old 80s TV that was mounted above the whiteboard, just in time to see the second plane hit. We all watched as she stood horrified with her hand covering her mouth. As children we didn't understand the situation, and school was immediately cancelled with all the children being sent home early. I'll never forget that moment as long as I live.

No matter the reason or cause, no matter the theories. It is a tragic event that we will be doomed if forgotten. It ushered in a new era of domestic spying, security, loss of freedom, and fear. The world will never be the same.
To all the lives lost, we remember you.
To all the families broken, we mourn with you.
To our responders alive and lost, we salute you.

Semper Fi.

I was actually at the Boston Airport 2 days before the hijackings and terrorist attacks.

I really wish I was in my own country when it happened.

About six years before 9/11 as we know it happened, the Jaimas residence had an interesting thing happen on that date.

We were home one night when we got a visit from the police. Apparently, one of the neighbors had declared she had been "menaced" by a "vicious attack dog" that my mother owned, and, for the sake of completing a police report, wanted to see the dog. Mom then brought her dog into the room:

Not the actual dog but it's a good image of her species.

The dog in question was a Maltese, about five pounds, and about a foot and a half long. The police officer promptly lost his shit and started laughing his ass off. "From the description she gave, I was expecting a German Shepherd!" he said, before taking his leave and heading off.

Good times.
