The spencer debate really shook him and it's led to his downfall because after that embarrassment he no longer engaged with opponents. As soon as he refused to debate critics he came across as a pompous twat who already knew how the debates would turn out so there wasn't any need to participate. That's what is making him being a bad leader and overall fail. There are many others who, without having the benefit of counting with a popular yt channel, have managed to actually move people around and actively making a change in their communities.

I know of people who have indeed approached Sargon to offer help and he's ignored them. I'm sure he did so because he believes he doesn't need it. There you have the proof of how much he sucks at leading anything, he's unable to admit he could use some help and listen to other people. This is why, whatever he's put in charge of, he's gonna fail.
