Artcow Michael John Kricfalusi / John Kricfalusi / John K. / John K. Stuff / Raymond Spum - scammer animator who pissed away his own career, salty blogger, CONFIRMED predator and child rapist

He was still trying to fight battles that have largely been won by now,

Yeah, but not by him, which is the point.

Like anyone that uses activism or a supposed moral high ground to fill a hollow in their life or make themselves feel important, it's not the result that he's after. He wants to fight the fight. Moreover he needs to be seen fighting the fight. And when these sorts win, they either have to pick a new fight, or like Johnny here, they have to just keep fighting the old fight, shadowboxing a long-rotted strawman and demanding praise for their fisticuffs.

Pretty amazing how his "pitches" looks like shit I would draw in my school notebooks.

Taken from Steamboats link:
"MIKEY IS A PRAYING MANTIS WHO LIVES IN THE BASEMENT OF THE SAME TENEMENT BUILDING AS PROFESSOR MOLE. THE PROFESSOR DICOVERS HIM ONE DAY HOVERING IN THE DANK SHADOWS. TO MOLE'S SURPRISE,MIKEY IS NOT AFRAID OF THE PROFESSOR'S DEEPLY UGLY COUNTENANCE. THE PROFESSOR BEFRIENDS MIKEY AND FEEDS HIM."

Pro-tip: When making a pitch, try not to leave the caps lock button on.

Mikey? Professor? I thought it was Robyn and John

Incidentally, that pitch provides evidence of how he was stuck on his projects from the 90s. The pilot for He-Hog I posted earlier was made in the late 90s. I recall reading articles about him mentioning it that were written not long after he was booted off of R&S. And as late as 2010 he was still trying to interest people in it.

I doubt it with his sexual crimes. lol

Wait, what? He admitted it? Shit, where the fuck did I miss that?

It's in the Buzzfeed article. John's lawyer admits that he had underage girlfriends and was a bipolar alcoholic.

EDIT: Here's some news concerning the Ren and Stimpy documentary - ever since it's been in production, John refused to be interviewed for it... but recently he asked to be interviewed by the filmmakers and they did so.

Gee - I wonder why?

Or Joe Murray (the guy who did "Rocko's Modern Life" and the short-lived Cartoon Network show "Camp Lazlo"), though the only screwed-up things about him are he had a binge-eating problem when he was a teenager (which he used as inspiration for Heffer Wolfe's constant eating), his first wife committed suicide while he was working on Rocko's Modern Life (that recycling musical episode is a memorial to her, of sorts, since she hot Joe Murray into environmentalism. Also, the "Wacky Delly" episode is an allegory of Joe Murray wanting to leave RML because he was upset over his wife dying and Nickelodeon denying him an out due to the contract he signed), and his second wife divorced him while working on "Camp Lazlo" (at least Cartoon Network was more sympathetic and let him end his show. Either that or the show wasn't pulling in big numbers and CN needed an excuse to shut it down).

TL;DR: The guy who did Rocko's Modern Life and Camp Lazlo had a messed-up life, but, as far as anyone knows, at least he's never molested kids. Plus, his output is more watchable than John K's can ever hope to be.

What about Mike Judge? I know that he's pretty arrogant when it comes to releasing Beavis and Butthead on DVD. I know about the licensing issues with the music videos and how MTV might have thrown out some of the uncensored episodes after the "fire" controversy, but his arrogance goes even beyond that. He supposedly had a list of episodes that he hated and tried to get MTV to promise never to release them. Many of these episodes were ones that fans liked. When MTV tried to release a DVD compilation back in the early 00s that included many of the episodes on this list, it was on store shelves for literally less than a day before Mike found out about it and demanded that it be recalled. Then when the "Mike Judge Collection" sets came out, many of the episodes were "directors cuts" that added absolutely nothing but made a bunch of annoying edits for reasons that only he probably understands.

I've always found Joe to be weirdly "normal" for a cartoonist, especially compared to what gets hired for TV stuff if you've seen the artists/writers that work on Wabbit, TTGO, Clarence, Powerpuff Girls reboot, Angry Beavers, etc etc.

Never heard that stuff about Mike Judge though, I only knew that he sternly pushed for stiff on-model animation with King of the Hill (which is one of that shows few downsides imo).

If we may get back to John... (There's a lolcow cartoonists thread if you're really interested in the Lolcow General section.)

Take a look at the pitch blog. Do you notice how some of the pitches are pretty much one-joke characters? (There are others I can imagine working as regular shows, but they'd have to be done with a style of comedy that John K. would never accept.)

Seriously, what the fuck am I looking at here?
And how could anyone think this thing could pass for an animated show?

He's part of a series of characters John calls the "Goofy Gremlins." From what I can tell he was going to use them as part of a parody of cutesy 80s cartoons - like the Smurfs, the Littles, the Care Bears, etc., around those lines.

So since it would have been his idea of a parody, they'd have just borne a vague, passing resemblance to the Smurfs and whatnot while farting, pissing, having infected pimples, and being gay.

we should be glad the King Turd Collection exists.

Snorks and Fraggle Rock were the only two good shows in that category. I only watched Smurfs when I had nothing else to do, and even when I was 5 I dont think I ever would have been caught dead watching Care Bears.
