Seeing SFW versions of fetishes or SFW fetishes (beyond I guess just fursuits in general for those who are sexually into them) just gets so tiring. SFW inflation suits, browsing FA with the SFW filter on and getting blasted by pictures of close ups of paws or feet, etc, it’s really gross knowing that even though it may not be scarring for a child to see, the fact that it’s “acceptable” for kids while still being something someone (or many people) are getting off on somehow feels worse.

I know this can apply to just about anything, but deep down, if something is a fetish, then it’s gonna be scummy to try and make “acceptable to be out in public.” I guess I just have beef with exhibitionists, which WAYYYYY too many furries are.

When an inflation fetish gets out of hand and they have a suit made incorporating inflation.

Do furs that are into inflation get sexually aroused by such inflation imagery and the above suit, you know like whacking one off, or is it a non-sexual interest?

Is it wrong that it now occurs to me that if they can make inflation suits, how long is it before vore suits are possible?

I find this very unsettling because that's a banner for Radio Comix in the background of that photograph. They are/were one of the premiere publishers of anthropomorphic comics in the 1990's after they split from Antarctic Press. Yeah, they printed adult stuff but (and this will sound dumb I know) it was more or less the "tasteful" side of that kind of content. I can't tell if this is a comic book that is being sold at their booth or whatever because I don't know if this guy is standing in a neighboring booth or if he bought it elsewhere and is just taking a candid picture.

I can't find anything in Radio Comix's catalog that starts with "A Boy's Guide", and nothing that is legible in that picture returns any meaningful google results, not even the author (I'm assuming that's a pseudonym).

I would like to imagine one of my favorite comic book publishers hasn't stooped to selling this kind of borderline illegal trash.
I tried to find the book but find no mention of it anywhere. Judging by the cover artwork of Davey & Goliath and the text, it looks like it is just a parody.

From an artistic standpoint, furry art does little to be provactive or intellectual. Porn serves a simple purpose and becomes predictable. Clean furry art ranges from mind-numbingly boring to slightly amusing. Furry art is uninspired and derivative. You'll never see someone like Meesh making art above the 90 IQ range because it's not profitable.

Same problems apply to most other fandoms nowadays, but they don't revolve around the fetish aspect.

Keep the lengthy arguments to private messages, you are shitting up the thread with these diatribes. I don't like when people shit up the threads.

got it, boss.

this line of thinking is tricky, because it comes with the assumption that there is an accurate, objective measure to quantify and define "high art".

just thinking about "provocative", i don't know about you, but some of art elicits a strong, negative response. if we went back 500 years and supplanted the likes of the Mona Lisa with today's volume of hyper-realistic furry shock art, a lot of it could possibly be hanging in galleries right now.

They all seem to think that just because they're whacking it to a drawing nothing is wrong, even when it's just straight pedophilia art.
People act surprised when the shits beating their meat to pictures of kids getting diddled get bored and move on to the real thing.
shit with dishonored wolf is sad honestly

Art that elicits a strong emotional reponse in a thoughtful way. I'm not asking for 1000 IQ art, just something more substantantive. The thing is, furry has some very skilled artists who never do anything with their skill besides what's expected of them.

I'm sure there's plenty of furry artists that want to do more than just make dumb doodles or porn, but my dude you gotta understand the dumb shit (like it seems like the more low effort the more popular tbh) and porn is what brings in the CASH. Money talks, and when some of them are full-time artists they gotta go where the money goes because just impressing people looking for high art doesn't pay the bills.

You ever see a furry holding a 2000$ original painting they just bought? No my dude they just have furry t-shirts, enough cartoon hyena enamel pins to kill a man, and a 69TB hard drive of furry porn at home.

I know for a fact that there are furry artists who work side jobs in "the biz" and that's where their talent really shines, along with artists online who went from porn and basic stuff to doing TV shows and comics/manga.

On the other hand it really is wasted talent if you can't get there or even produce something of value that is not art. You're not seeing furries go make their own webcomics (that aren't fap fuel) or games to get noticed by the web, you're seeing them make fetish porn comics, lots of porn, and racking up patreon dollars over this. It's not anything new or different but hey, it does pay the bills.

Like got dam I don't know where to put this, but I recently went through my puush account and saved a bunch of logs from a SFW furry discord I used to be in. I found this group last summer through their tumblr called "weirdfur" and the invites were basically open for a while and I let people from another group in to mess with them. Why? Because they were hardcore left leaning tumblrites that allowed Cuteosphere in their server.

Weirdfur ads used to run on furaffinity too.
