The Loud House is a great cartoon! Even as someone who for the longest time has been a Cartoon Network fanboy with a big hatred for Nickelodeon, I just HAD TO get into this show! (Good thing that prior to its premiere, my stance against Nickelodeon did soften, and I did get into some other Nicktoons like Avatar and Harvey Beaks)
But, like with just about every otherwise good show, The Loud House has a few bad episodes.
I am still thinking about what my top 5 or top 10 least favorite episodes are, but just as I did with Gumball, I decided to present an assortment of episodes I dislike for different reasons.
There are a few other episodes, like Party Down and A Tale of Two Tables that I wanted to rip on, but couldn't decide on a category for them, and I didn't want to use the same reason more than once (despite my Gumball one of these having 2 episodes under BECAUSE I DO NOT)
Also, there are episodes like Making The Case and Sleuth or Consequences which I do not mind, yet I am aware of the criticism they get.
I have also decided to only cover episodes that have aired in my country, the United Kingdom. Please do not tell me about episodes like Deal Me Out or Be Stella My Heart as I would rather wait for those to air in my country before I have a say on them.
Anyway, here we go
Because it is Dumb
Fed Up
Lynn Sr really should not have been so repetitive with his meal planning. He was rather unreasonable towards his family. It was really sad that the Loud siblings had to go through so much trouble just so that they could have pizza.
Because it is Poorly Written
Making The Grade
My dislike for this episode is not a severe as what others have for it, but Lisa was a bit too desperate to be relatable to the rest of the 5th grade class. I agree that Lisa still being in kindergarten despite having been to college makes her more of an interesting character, but it still would have been nice if she was in a higher class anyway, similar to how Anais is in the class above Gumball and Darwin, despite being 8 years younger.
Because it is Disturbing
The Green House
Eco episodes have quite a reputation, and while I do agree we need to do more for the environment, these episodes do not do a good job with their environmental messages. Plus it does not work very well for this show, knowing how many sisters Lincoln has! Clearly, some of the stuff the sisters do in this episode, like using coal as a power source, is forced in just for the sake of an eco episode! Some of the stuff is interesting, such as Lisa using used diapers as a power source, but if Lincoln wanted to join his friends for an online game, he could have done this at a library or cybercafe instead of his own home! Maybe with a bit more rewriting this episode might have been decent.
Because it Feels Rushed
One of The Boys
My dislike for this episode is not as severe as what most others have for it, but I agree this episode got a bit cruel to Lincoln and it should have either been 22 minutes or a 2 parter. There is a reason why some Phineas and Ferb episodes are 22 minutes instead of the usual 11!
Because of One Scene
Patching Things Up
Lola and Lana join the Bluebell Scouts. So far so good. Lincoln and Clyde try to get their hands on the cookies they are said to make. So far so good. The episode seems fine but the end where Lola and Lana instead sell the boys Kale Puffs, due to the Bluebell Scouts' new healthy eating initiative ruins it for me, same with the healthier cereal BS at the beginning of Gumball episode The Question. I am sick of this healthy eating agenda that is being forced on us! Yeah, we do need to eat healthier but we shouldn't be bullied into it! Also, the bad ending for the sake of comedy is one of my least favorite tropes in storytelling.
Because it is Cruel
Brawl in The Family
You should automatically know why
For Personal Reasons
Future Tense
This is EASILY my 2nd LEAST FAVORITE episode of the show! Comparing your own kids to those of another family is a textbook example of how not to parent! Seeing the Loud kids forced out of their elements (if you catch my drift) was really unpleasent and it was clear that they were not enjoying the activities they were forced to do! This episode brings back really bad memories of some bossy people I used to have to deal with! (Fortunately, NOT my own parents! They would NEVER do this to me!)
If I wanted to see Loud siblings hindered from being themselves, I will stick to Back in Black and No Laughing Matter, thank you very much!
BECAUSE I DO NOT!
No Such Luck
As much as I hate Future Tense, I have to agree with the majority of you that No Such Luck is the worst episode of the show.
I get that Lincoln needed personal space, but classing himself as being bad luck was going too far. It eventually got to the point where they did not allow him to tag along full stop, or even sleep in his own bedroom! We all need our personal space, but there are better methods through which you can negotiate your way into getting it! It was clever to see Lincoln attend the baseball game in disguise, but for the Loud family to afterwards see Lincoln as bad luck UNLESS HE WEARS THE DISGUISE just punished us for caring! This is why The Blame is one of my top 3 most hated Gumball episodes, and why I agree that Town and Out is one of the worst Powerpuff Girls episodes! (Seriously, that episode of THE ORIGINAL series makes the 2016 series seem tolerable by comparison!)
Hopefully I will be able to, another time, present some of my favorite Loud House episodes!
