No wonder he went onto the SJW train. It's the only way for him to get attention now. He doesn't want to improve so what other choice does he have left other than to jump onto the nearest bandwagon?
Well, I guess he does genuinely hold leftist views and that he is a liberal at heart and not just faking it completely, but he's the kind of leftist that just wants to fit in with the right crowd, to be "a nice guy", and he just copies all views from his senpais without reflecting upon them.
He's the perfect leftist lapdog, since he's so prone to fall for any kind of propaganda and he eagerly parrots the things he's supposed to parrot.
I bet going into college he thought he was the smartest person in the room and that everything and everyone was below him. I bet he thought in the next couple of years he'd be entering "GOD MODE" when it came to art.
Dobson has remarked a few times that it was paramount to his self-perception to be the "comic-guy" who was skilled at art. When he entered artschool, he was confronted not only with the fact that he now was only one of many "comic-guys" but also that his skills were average at best.
In one of his old dA journals, he wrote about how certain people in his class only managed to make better animation than him cause they used a software that was easy-peasy to use and thus their animations that looked better than Dobson's were less impressive, since the other's essentially cheated or used easy-mode to make them. He also stated that he'd be able to make some amazing things
if only he had that magical software that makes animation so super easy to do.
In some later journal he boasted about how he had gotten this software and that he's going to make great animations once he's figuring out how to use it.
The last journal was him meekly giving up, since he couldn't figure out how to use it.
It's like something out of a shitty sitcom.
I am pretty certain that Dobson is the kind of guy that has to be looking down on others constantly cause he's desperately trying to reassert his own superiority and thus generate some sense of confidence and this all hinges on him being more skilled then others, being smarter than others, having better and more refined tastes than others, that he's morally superior. And he craves validation for these things like crazy.
Once you view his behaviour under that lense, everything just clicks into place.
