The Creepypasta Fandom

Gotta admit -- this Creepypasta tale was one of the most original and disturbing horror yarns I've read in a long time. The fact that it's done in an online-forum dialogue (kinda like the one we're having now) just made it that much more chilling.
Yeah, Candle Cove is actually creepy as fuck. It seems like one of the few good ones, most of them look like crap or rarely "So Bad it's Good".

Speaking of teenaged emo girls, what's with the 12-year-old girls almost stabbing their "friend" to death because Slenderman supposedly told them so?

I'm so glad creepypasta wasn't around when I was in my teens...I know I would have tried getting deep into that stuff in attempt to be SUPER EDGY.

There's also that group that apparently kills people in the name of Slenderman, similar to Dungeons and Dragons. I thought that became irrelevant last year.

That's like someone murdering people because they claim Dracula told them to or something. Slenderman and Dracula are both fictional characters you guys, calm down.

I used to be into Creepypastae, before that I was into Lovecraft, and afterwards I was into Lovecraft. The pastas can be really poorly written or excessively gory, or even both and some are just stupid. That being said, there are some good pastas out there. Check out Mutant Future http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Mutant_Future or Revolution http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Revolution. I feel like Lovecraft has a certain way with words, but I don't want this to devolve into a spergfest about Lovecraft.

The girls that stabbed their friend were apparently stupid enough to believe that Slendy had a mansion in a National park 60 miles away, and they were going to travel BY FOOT with no food.

Really smart there.

I have to admit, sanic.exe is horrifying. I can't put into words how uncomfortable this screenshot makes me feel.

Crap, how could I forget the wiki JC-the-Hyena made in retaliation to the moving?

In my many years of reading and critiquing horror, there is none that surpass the level of pure idiocy and mental deficiency of JC-the-Hyena.

After Exe was born, he explored the recesses of subspace, floating in the darkness as a giant blob of pure dark energy with two red eyes. Suddenly Exe discovered a dimensional window that revealed planet Earth and all that it contains. It is here that Exe learned about humans and Sonic the Hedgehog, and right then and there he was utterly fascinated by both, mostly by Sonic, who he was smitten with.
Mass of primordial evil confirmed for autistic furry.

The idea of Slenderman having a mansion in a national park is amusing and ridiculous more than anything.

There's a headmate/fictionkin/stop oppressing me shitlord/they're totes real joke in there, but I'm just too tired to find it.

Ahhh, creepypasta. As plenty of others have said, it's a goldmine for insanity and godawful writing. I browse it from time to time just to see what laughs I can dig up, and it has yet to disappoint. Of course, there are some that are actually good at being creepy.

Of course, those typically don't try too hard at supernatural stuff. If you can take something theoretically plausible and make it into a pasta, you're doing it right/are at least on the right track in my opinion.

I found a creepypasta that involved Chuck E. Cheeses where the kid finds himself inside a facility where they try to create a rat mutant that nearly kills him. It was pretty funny yet somewhat creepy at the same time.

Creepypastas tend to be funny when they try too hard to be very scurry.

That's what I work with in my stories. It usually turns out well.

I like well-written creepypasta; Slimebeast's stuff is usually pretty good. Lost Episodes is one of my favorites of his since it provides a take on the tired 'Lost Episode' creepypasta genre that's at least somewhat believable. I'm not really a fan of his Abandoned by Disney series, which seems to be his most popular, though.

And I never saw what the fuck was supposed to be scary about Jeff the Killer. iirc the original story was kind of poorly written and that one overly photoshopped picture isn't really scary either. I have no idea why the fangirls cling to that one so hard. Slenderman and BEN were at least kinda spooky before they became overdone.
