They're trying to make the case that other reasons made AP drop Meyer which is all fine and good but there's still the problem of AP confirming, publicly, that they were going to publish Meyer, Waid saying 'i'm going to call AP, they don't know who they're working with', AP dropping the contract right after that, and then Waid going to bleeding cool to say 'I totally made them drop Meyer'

I'm really not sure how you get around that sequence of events as tortious interference, when that sequence of events exists, the prior events that Meyer may have done, regardless of shittiness, don't even matter here imo.

I could see trying to argue Waid wasn't responsible for it, someone else was and it would have happened anyway.

It doesnt get around the fact that they were going to publish Meyer, and it was Waid contacting AP that made them drop it. Its irrelevant how shitty Meyer is when Waid was the catalyst. Maybe if Waid hadnt broadcast everywhere that he did this he might be able to use this defense. Am I reading this correct?

Yes, if it wasn't so painfully obvious Waid was involved it might be defensible, it also depends on what AP says happened to some extent but them claiming 'No we did it for other reasons' is probably irrelevant because its in their interest to deny.

The MW side love to claim that Antarctic Press dropped the book for 'other reasons' and link to the Twitter post or the Facebook update, but they never mention this part (untrue story is referencing the 4chan post)

MW did call and 'express concern' and 'shed more light on the situation' this and MW own statements will sink him. I've also read heard that the Twitter account holder was a comic creator at Antarctic and was fired shortly after this shit show.
