Not sure why the video didn't show up in the quote.

  1. Ethan is slimy and tried to use other people to make videos going after Pyrocinical. When Leafy called him out on it, he just said Leafy was slimy for releasing the private DMs.
  2. Ethan backstabs PewDiePie during the whole "N-Word Controversy," saying how it's not okay to say. Jump back to him saying it very liberally with iDubbz on their H3 Podcast.
  3. Ethan doubles-down and goes on a drunken rant against Keemstar and Scarce for reporting on the story, acting like those two were his main detractors.
  4. Ethan exploits his good pal Jontron on their podcast. Makes him revisit the controversial Destiny debate, which he clearly says he's uncomfortable talking about it.
  5. Ethan also demeans Jimmy Lee, that one dentist they made fun of in the past, on their podcast. Jimmy is always doing everything they ask of him without protest, yet Ethan and Hila act like Jimmy's uncontrollable and ruining their show.
  6. Ethan brings on a smaller YouTuber named William Osman, yet only has him on their show for 20 minutes compared to a full episode. Also doesn't feature William's name as a special guest in the title initially.
  7. Bill Burr throws Ethan off of his highhorse and shows how Ethan is such a buffoon.
  8. Ethan wants to sucker-punch Sam Hyde irl, based on some past drama the two had.
  9. Ethan has become a massive shill and is in denial over it, despite their Twitter linking to the Podcast channel and no longer their main channel. As a result, their content continues to plummet in terms of quality.
  10. Ethan's terrible jokes are just him repeating something slanderous about somebody over-and-over, but also saying that he's joking or is complimenting them, just so he can dodge any criticism.
  11. Ethan is very uninformed about politics and serious issues. Acts like he knows his shit, can't even make decent jokes about these topics.
  12. Shoenice is willing to own up to the fight he started with Ethan and Hila in the past, as to try and move past it. Ethan chooses instead to torment Shoenice with false opportunities to work with them.

This last IMO point is debatable, as Shoenice is undoubtedly a Fucking mess of a person. Still, I dislike the idea of Ethan and Hila trying to continually fuck with the guy, instead of just moving on.

The way he treated Jontron on the podcast was fucking deplorable. They're supposed to be friends and he was a fucking douchebag. I used to like Ethan but I never really watched any of the podcast.

I can't believe how much of a piece of shit he is. Whilst I'm not sure that he's a lolcow, he's probably one to watch.

His podcasts are so bland - I feel like he doesn't know how to conduct an interview with any coherent flow. Conversation winds up going all over the place and I feel like I'm listening to 3 people talking at Denny's.

6 months ago he did a video on a dude that likes to date grandmas - a story that has made the rounds several times as one of the crowned jewels of TLC look-at-the-freaks-we-found programming since it first came out 4 years earlier in mid-2014.

8 months ago he's still making videos about Prank Invasion which he's been doing for 4 years now. 10 months ago he promised to make a compilation of the best videos using a greenscreened clip he provided of Ajit Pai and never followed through.

Ethan and Hila are slowly becoming fairly out of touch with what made them popular in the first place. Instead of hunkering down and trying to reconnect with their creative roots they want to push Hila's hobo clothing line Teddy Fresh and churn out low effort podcasts for views.

Humor is subjective, but I can definitely agree with these two. His style just keeps hammering the same points over and over and over. Also agree that when he covers a topic I'm familiar with I've noticed just how shallow his understanding of the topic at hand is - the other reason I can't listen to his podcasts.

All this being said though, these are reasons I've gotten tired of him and don't check him out anymore rather than check in on him for lulz.

Let's be real here: If Ethan had to choose between one of the two channels permanently being deleted, he probably would save the podcast. The podcast is far less work compared to making videos on their main channel, and at this point, it's pretty much the face they've adopted to attract general audiences. Like you know it's apparent as Fuck when Ethan had the podcast channel linked on his Twitter instead of their main channel.

And this really isn't anything new. At this point, it's an annual cycle:
>Focuses solely on the podcast; doesn't make new videos
>Does stupid shit that pisses off the fans
>Comes out with the annual apology video, blaming it on the depression
>Make a few new videos to appease the upset fans
>Rinse and Repeat

I think a lot of sentiment against him comes from the fact that people miss his old videos but to be frank that kind of content is dead, especially with how Youtube actively discouraged edgy comedy videos with demonetization.

He and Hila are having a kid though, he needs to get it together for that. Honestly that's the best excuse to quit the main channel in favor of the podcast, which I feel they only haven't done because they'll lose a lot of the fanbase. People will understand taking care of a baby means it's time to stop making videos acting like a tard in public.

Speaking of @Memology 101 his video on Bobby Burns reminded me he's even bigger of a cow than H3H3 just because he had a way bigger decline.

hes such a faggot. wines about depression like he has some super hard life. makes millions of $ of the past few years. only has to upload a video once every couple months (sometimes cant even do that) and gets to sit around all day acting like he has it so hard

only thing has to do now is sit around for a few hours on a podcast and react to things. what a terrible hard life

LMAo Youtube audiences are fickle af, and they're so easily told what to think. This is the 2016 anti-Keemstar circlejerk/dogpile all over again.

Personally, I always thought H3h3 videos weren't real funny- the main selling point was just his willingness to dress up like a rctard. And Ethan always came off as pretty smug and self-righteous for me. But the current hate-train on him is dumb af.

Like, people handwringing about "OMG how could H3 be so mean to Shoenice- doncha know Shoenice is an alcoholic and we should be sympathetic to him?" Motherfucker Shoenice was broke with no audience (after getting his own YT channel banned for being an obnoxious rctard), H3 offered to put him on a million-sub channel for guaranteed hundreds of thousands of views, and Shoenice responded by saying someone should rape Ethan's gf, calling them both "kike" over and over, and being a no-show for the podcast. But now Ethan's the big villain for joking about the (100% accurate) fact that Shoenice eats deoderant sticks and craft glue? :story:

But it's funny seeing Keem as a rabble-rouser in a re-play of the shit he's still bitching about, two years after the fact. (Not that I blame Keem for being pissy at Ethan- Ethan was kind of cunt to him, too)

What's the background about the supposed resentment between Ethan Klein and Sam Hyde? I closely followed Sam Hyde's videos and interviews for a long time and he only rarely jokingly references Ethan Klein in relation to the meme of Ethan Klein stealing video ideas from Sam Hyde, and always in a non-malicious manner.

I think it's just fans making a mountain out of a mole hill. The only thing I remember about this that could reflect badly on Sam, is during his podcast with Ethan parents someone clipped a part where Ethan talked about an encounter in new york where "A large man was staring at me across the street, walked directly at me and slammed into me and called me a faggot."

Immediately fans on both sides assumed it was Sam Hyde for some reason.

... It's literally in the OP
Unless I'm misunderstanding your question

I'm glad this thread was reopened, the podcast is some of the lowest effort trash I've ever seen, I can't watch more than five to ten minutes. A guy with millions of subscribers with his own studio being this lazy is honestly embarrassing.

EDIT: I didn't know Hila's having a kid and I kind of sympathize but if they want to make this into an actual career and you know provide for him in the future they need to start putting actual work into their content. Either that or get real fucking jobs.

It is low-effort, but lot's of Youtubers are shifting more to podcasts because of YT's censor/demonetize-happy tendencies, and the way the algorithm and adsense both favor long watch-time over higher-effort, short content. Like when everyone started doing ten-minute-three-second videos, or the shift from short, high-effort animation to longer, low-effort "animatics", I can't really blame individual creators for going where the Youtube Gods push them them when YT incentivizes these shitty trends.

I just don't get why they bought a studio instead of just using discord or whatever like the Sardonicast guys did when they started their podcast. Shouldn't Ethan have tested the water first and made sure he was... you know a good podcaster? They wouldn't even have to upload to their main channel that much if they wouldn't be so fucking ostentatious about the podcast and how they clearly want it to replace their main content.

Edit: I guess you wouldn't be able to physically see POST MALONE DID YOU KNOW WE'RE FRIENDS WITH POST MALONE if they used discord

I'd recommend people watch this video. It's very well made research-wise. It serves as a thorough explanation of why Ethan and Hila can be considered lolcows.

I'm still wondering what more is needed to move them out of the Proving Grounds. It's not just boiled down to Ethan and Hila being shills for companies and bad podcast hosts: They've clearly become out-of-touch with their original core audience to where they make an apology video once a year. Nothing changes for the better, their attitudes and content only get worse and worse.

EDIT: An interesting find.
Back in the spring of 2018, Ethan got into a bit of hot water with the trans community over a dumb joke. Someone wrote a medium post about it, and in the comments, I notice somebody right away:
