I agree with you totally, it is a very dimwitted view to think that people don't or at least the majority of people don't have a suit or suits for special occasions, even if its a once in a blue moon affair. That's why I think it's was done more as a PR stunt/ego stroke that backfired on him. I think the idea was is that he just wasn't 'bothered' to actually put the effort in because he had more 'important' things to concern himself with.
Meanwhile at the same time Dank's has a suit, and it's a nice fitting suit. I wouldn't have thought that Dankula was the sort of person who would be caught dead in a suit unless it couldn't be avoided.
I agree it's an elitist way to think, but I have had some life experience in dealing with English people, whereby one had a court appointment, and I kid you not showed up to his case wearing an Adidas track suit, an expensive one mind you, but it was still a track suit. So there is probably a small minority of yobs out there that think like this.
To be fair on sargon, Dankula probably has a good suit because the first thing a defense attorney will tell a person going to trial is to get a nice looking suit and clean themselves up. Still doesn't excuse why sargon never thought to have a suit when he joined ukip. Sure he was youth outreach but ukip is still stacked with old fuckers who care about that kind of thing
