I agree with you totally, it is a very dimwitted view to think that people don't or at least the majority of people don't have a suit or suits for special occasions, even if its a once in a blue moon affair. That's why I think it's was done more as a PR stunt/ego stroke that backfired on him. I think the idea was is that he just wasn't 'bothered' to actually put the effort in because he had more 'important' things to concern himself with.

Meanwhile at the same time Dank's has a suit, and it's a nice fitting suit. I wouldn't have thought that Dankula was the sort of person who would be caught dead in a suit unless it couldn't be avoided.

I agree it's an elitist way to think, but I have had some life experience in dealing with English people, whereby one had a court appointment, and I kid you not showed up to his case wearing an Adidas track suit, an expensive one mind you, but it was still a track suit. So there is probably a small minority of yobs out there that think like this.

It’s far more likely that South African blacks accepted help and ideological support from many of pro-third world outreach, including the USSR who doubtless helped the “revolution” down there. So the black political activists tied to communism ended up winning out due to better help but ultimately the conflict between them and the Afrikaners was not BECAUSE of communists but because they’re black and saw whites as oppressing them. Group conflict is the basis for most ideological conflicts, on some level it is tribal or tinged with tribal concerns.

I forgot to add that, and the West, perhaps as a consequence of trying to win over the third world during the Cold War (a lot of our pozzed immigration policy came from that period) probably put pressure and threatened sanctions on SA despite the Cold War ending. Previously we hadnt because they were a good ally, I think they were even nuclear or close to it.

Carl would have supported this because the new SA constitution, on paper anyway, does “more to secure individual rights than even the US constitution.”
