Studio 54: The Disco Thread - Disco Stu Doesn't Advertise!

I can see myself dancing to this at 2:00 AM at some shitty club in New York.

It's a classic. It's always amused me that the US label for Joy Division and New Order was Qwest, which belonged to Quincy Jones.

"I'm so honored that New Order picked my label to go on in the US—it really flattered me. They're beautiful people." - Quincy Jones

edit to add: I think the whole Bad Girls album is perfect from beginning to end, but Donna Summer's Can't Get to Sleep at Night is the track I love the most.

One of the very first disco singles, found by David Mancuso while crate digging in a West Indian record store, and played at his Loft parties in 1972. It was then picked up by Frankie Crocker and broadcast on WBLS in NYC, becoming hugely popular. This is the source of Michael Jackson's "Mama say, mama sah" in 'Wanna Be Startin' Something'.

Tasty.
