The Furby Community - Because robots in fursuits are serious business.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
You did good. Honestly surprised that the community hasn't been brought up here yet considering they're very in vogue right now. I'll definitely stay around and see how deep this rabbit hole populated by adults playing with toys for ten-year-old girls goes.
Thanks.

I'm genuinely surprised they didn't have a thread here either, considering how big of a mental health hazard the community has become.

God help us all. These people are shitrat crazy.
Asked my friend who's a furby fandom veteran for more info. Furbae:

-Has four Limited Edition Kid Cuisine furbies priced at $200 each, and is using one for 'sunfade' testing, meaning she's leaving it out purposely in the sun to fade it's fur.
-Buys/bids on almost every furby that appears on eBay, creating false scarcity and leaving an actual mark on the 'furby economy'.
-Posts about being in financial distress despite buying hundreds of dollars worth of furbies.
-Probably has a hoarding problem.

I don't have any evidence to submit to prove these claims, unfortunately, but I'm sure there's some around.
Just imagine doxing Furbae and people robbing their house because of it. :story: I just hope we don't get to the point where people start making fleshlights out of them or adding fleshlights to them.

There was quite a lot in the various Discord servers prior to them kicking me out because I wasn't an SJW. As for the fringe sites like AdoptAFurby, they tend to stay drama free mostly because they're where the younger fans go.

According to Furby Confessions submitters, one particular server, The Furby Brotherhood, is currently under fire of mistreatment of its members by the mods, and there's another Discord run by a guy named funnyfurby that they're going after for "overpricing" Furbies that he sells.

From what I understand, funnyfurby is willing to lower prices if you just ask. I don't get it, because someone who "overprices" probably wouldn't be willing to haggle with prices, but then again I'm not 100% sure what qualifies as "overpricing" for Furbies in the first place. This type of community sounds like the adoptable community, except with physical items instead of drawings.

Furby's were a constant source of amusement for me in my younger years, having had a sister and her friends that were so enamored with them. I will always remember when one malfunctioned, the kids Dad couldn't fix it, so he smashed it to pieces with a hammer, and a funeral was held for it.

I'm not surprised that there is a coven of nutcases who are part of some online community that is formed around Furby's. It seems that there isn't a single thing that doesn't attract the most rotten of people who will fight each other for the most stupid of reasons. Even these amoebas have super inflated egos.

I wonder if there will be a war between the Furby fandom vs. the Hatchimal fandom?

I was kicking myself the year Hatchimals were hot because I saw a whole pallet of them for $25 each early in the season. But who would’ve thought a Furby clone would get that big?

I heard this thing inspired Furbies.

Furby and the Tamagotchi community are just... one of those communities that have a sunny side of wank. I remmber Furbies made a come back a couple years ago, but they had LCD eyes or something.

Furby fans vs. Tamagotchi fans is more likely mostly because it already happened.

Besides, do Hatchimals even have a fandom?
Eh, going by my nephew it’ll be a decade or so before they get on the internet, but I thought maybe there are some obsessive (wo)manbabies out there already.

Is that...mutant Talking Tom?

It's Ferbus from Saban's Masked Rider (Based off Kamen Rider Black RX that Saban fucked up to the tenth power.) The suit actor was played by the late Mini Me actor. The show was shit, but Ferbus is a thing of Nightmares.

Tamagotchi fans (They seriously need a thread as well) can go in autistic screech fests. 98% fans nowadays don't care about the pocket pet, but the damn anime. Yes, Tamagotchi had an anime.
