I think if his gout was bothering him he'd have been whining about it, so I tend to believe he's been symptom free (that is assuming he actually had gout and didn't just self-diagnose)

Thanks Aunt"), it was something that was his fault alone, which is why I think he chooses not to whine about it. There was no "tax attorney in Connecticut ", "new Youtube algorithm", "mentally ill Detractors", his parents that combed his hair in such a way as to cause what at first glance can mistakenly appear to be male pattern baldness, etc. He did something incorrectly, and was punished for it.
And it wasn't even something he can carry with an air of dignity, like a work injury. He ate so much delicious food, his body couldn't handle it. So he shuts up about it.
He's like a contrarian that can't commit. Reviews point to mediocre game, he makes a big deal out of it saying they probably rushed it and didn't get it. Plays the games and confirms they were actually mostly right.
Shadow of War gets shit on for MTX and the inflated grind, says they probably don't get it, they're just sensationalizing for clicks. Gets to that point and parrots literally every point everyone else says.
He needs to just shut the fuck up. He's not a reviewer, he's not a critic. He's a dickhead who so desperately wants to be "the guy" people listen to. Ends up just being a parrot for everyone else's opinion.
The contrarian gain-saying from Phil that I'm aware of has been for this Darksiders 3 playthrough, Shadow of Mordor, and Mighty no. 9. Building on what

positive rating.
What is left for him to watch that would be enjoyable for a viewer?
Well, there is that "Suicide Kings" video that hundreds of thousands of people loved. But Phil's not going to look through old hard drives that haven't been plugged in for 8 years and probably don't even work...
