She began with terrible bruising that somehow turned into dime-sized circular wounds that scabbed over. She picked at them until they became infected, blackened, deep sores, but with plenty of unharmed skin between the lesions. Then the sores, which were discrete and separated by several inches at least began to fuse together into the mess she has now.
Initially it looks like she wanted to go with another blood issue, since that is something she is accustomed to faking. Like the bruising was supposed to indicate some sort of terrible platelet issue, and she also claims she is part of a cult and lives with a boyfriend who beats her, so even in the beginning she could have gone with two attention ploys: blood disorder or abusive cult/boyfriend. But eventually she took the path she's on now.
I've got a strong stomach but the pictures and descriptions in her IG are utterly foul, especially where she discusses how bad this smells and how gross the debridement is (she says she smells like she is rotting, because she is, and describes the slimy black dead skin that had to be scraped off under the extensive scabbing. I know that medical professionals are more sympathetic these days to Munchausen cases because such people are decidedly mentally ill but I can't help but wonder how the medical professionals in her town react to her, especially when she has done something like this. Her IG is utterly macabre - prancing around and posing in dance clothes with bloody bandages covering her infected legs. Not even the mess on her legs is enough to sate her desire for attention.
I saw in one of her stories on insta that her leg infestations were "getting better", but I saw no differences. Unfortunately I never saved it so take this with a grain o' salt.
There is some speculation on LCF that she initially induced it via chemical burns or actual burns with something like a curling iron (there are pics on LCF showing a pattern on her fingers like she gripped a curling iron), and them kept it going by actually picking at it and aggravating it. Her fingers are currently all pretty nasty too.

The first is an addict who, while high, scratches and picks at their own skin and the second is Kelly. When humans dig at their own skin with their own fingernails it often comes out as holes.
Hers look worse than the addicts, but that's because she's worked on digging them deeper and not allowing them to heal whereas the addict prooooobably stopped when they came down (or got high again, depending on their trigger)

I'm on the fence about the bruising being real (in the sense that they were real, self inflicted bruises) or fake (makeup) because she's faked bruising before and I just don't have that good of eye for it, but I wouldn't put it past her to have swung a hammer at her own legs for those.
As for the fecal matter, well lolcow did a fantastic job matching what she claimed in a manic episode (about rubbing shit on herself) to her test results (assuming those results that she posted were real)
I admit, I'm inclined to believe those results are real because it straight up says "bitch you did this to yourself, there's no outside infection in there but uhhh we are picking up traces of actual shit.

Honestly I was a bit miffed when I first found out about her and her wasting of hospital resources but learned to laugh at her more and more. The satanic cult thing was gearing up to be wonderful, I really wish she hadn't dropped it. I wanted to see where that would go! Maybe she'd give birth to a demon? Or need an exorcism? or marry the devil? It had so much potential.

Wow. I've seen plenty of ugly wounds on legs that but it's usually on end-stage diabetics or those with severe vascular diseases. Even then it's typically lower down and leads to amputation.
It's pretty sad to see it on someone so young, even if it is self-induced due to being a nut. Or maybe especially in that case. Just shows what happens when tossing people in padded rooms becomes almost impossible.
On Kelly's Instagram, she claims that her leg wounds are the result of Behcet's disease, which is apparently a rare (of course) disorder that causes blood vessels to become inflamed. Not that this would surprise anyone, but none of the Google Images results for Behcet's disease are even remotely close to what's going on with Kelly's legs. I think you are probably right in that some medication she is taking or applying might have been the cause of her cat's issues. That being said, I am on the fence as to whether or not she would hurt her cat. I had thought that was a bridge too far for her (as she seemed as if she genuinely loved him, probably more than anyone or anything else in her life), but after seeing what she is currently deliberately doing to her legs to garner attention and waste medical resources, I am no longer certain.

I would love to believe that any issues with the cat are either natural or unintentional, but this is a girl who has picked up literal shit to rub into her self inflicted leg wounds so her four instagram followers would worry for three minutes. Probably most of the people who say they have Behçet’s disease are self-injuring munchies. It seems really easy to fake. And the reason why Kelly has turned herself into a rotting corpse is because she wants to win at being sick, no matter what the illness is.
