People keep comparing Jim to Spoony but as far as I've gathered Spoony was on a steady decline, isn't Jim exactly the same as always? He doesn't keep deadlines and he promises videos he never keeps, but this has always been the case as far as I can remember?

The comparison to spoony, IMHO, boils down to the same decaying orbit. They're fundamentally different in one critical way.

Spoony stopped giving a shit about his obligations and just eventually retreated into Twitter slapfighting and zero-effort content no one but the most desperate of his audience likes.
Jim has focused entirely on his audience, and in trying to appease it, began Twitter slapfighting and putting out zero-effort content no one but the hardcore of his audience likes.

There's other differences, of course, but the similarities are pretty spot-on. Unlike Spoony, Jim has the potential to pull out of it if he actually wanted to, but if he did, certain parties within his audience are going to go off the reservation, and take their stockpile of Tendies with them.

The big difference between spoony and jim is that spoony was crying on twitter about how he was gonna lose his house and his medical and he needed meds and doctors and it was trumps fault, while leaving money on the table by not doing his job.

I just want to point out that the deal was that Jim would pump out weekly videos in trade for the money he makes on Patreon and he has said as such himself on numerous occasions and was close to closing it due to his physical illness all those months ago. He then resumed making videos for a while, then got sidetracked with livestreams and stopped putting out videos on an active schedule. His last video was in November. It's been a month's amount of time since the release of the last video, so that's three thousand dollars he's taken for free. Yeah, that's blood in the water.

Honestly, who are the more die-hard fans at this point, the people comparing him to Spoony or the people defending him from the comparison? Did you put money down on his Patreon? How long does he have to go without making a video before you stop defending him?

Jim is a mid-2000's era YouTube troll, and people keep trying to use a modern "YouTuber"understanding with deadlines and a stream of content that should be expected.

If this expectation were unrealistic he shouldn't have set himself up with a modern "Patreon" understanding of deadlines and a stream of content to be expected.

That's just the way it was done a decade ago, and since he was back there doing it that long ago why would he change it up?

Because he already changed it up himself by getting money involved.
