I think it's pretty common delusion in lolcows. When you have moral certainty in your position, anyone who disagrees with you does so because they're evil.

In Jake’s case, he goes further than most, in that he effectively wants people to deny the undeniable. It’s not a question of being woke- he wants people to pretend that he is not and never has been Jake Alley, even though there’s more evidence for it than for the existence of certain historic figures.

Then there’s the fact that what people abandon him for is not taking the word of a Nazi over him. He attacks people on the same political, ideological side as him. He wants to employ the woke crowd’s tendency to eat its own to his advantage, which is a dangerous strategy when you yourself are an obvious liar.
