Official Physical Health Speculation & Cancer Discussion - hulthy just big

Guys, she's fucked. That's the actual medical diagnosis she will receive when she goes to a doctor. Since she doesn't have insurance the doctor won't even have to find the corresponding codes for "Patient Fucked, Will Die Soon."

The human body is resilient but there are limits.

All the super-morbidly obese people in their 40s and 50s gained weight gradually. It took them decades to get that fat. They may have been obese when they were young but they were much older when they tipped the scales at 500 and up. All the super-morbidly obese people we see in their 20s and 30s who are not actively dying are seeing the doctor, taking their insulin, their Lisinopril, their Lipitor. They do not leave their diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol unchecked.

Amber is in very bad shape. Y'all saw her neck in the last Vlogmas video. She won't even admit she has diabetes even while sporting a virtual neck tie of acanthosis nigricans. She's still blaming her girth on her anti-depressants and Becky and the gays not wrestling the fork out of her fat little hands. God only knows what her cholesterol and blood pressure are like. She's not engaging in even the most basic forms of fat survival. Any doctor who looks at her in this state won't know where to start.

If she makes it out of her 20s it will require a come to Jesus moment unlike any I can imagine at the moment.

Amber's doctor visit video was posted on March 4. On March 16 she posted a weight update, and at that time she weighed in at 482.2. IIRC, her contact with her doctor since that point has been through messaging on the patient portal. If she kept her appointment, she will have gained 74 lbs since the last time she saw her doctor.

Considering she has no health insurance, how likely is it that the doctor will do any sort of comprehensive testing vs just blaming it on her rapid weight gain?

Honestly? If she in fact did go... it's probably something minor. Shitholes like Big Al always last longer than they should.

Agree my dad's mom was always giant when I knew her, at least 400 lbs probably. She had diabetes really bad for years, she gave herself shots every day. And smoked like a chimney. She was on her death bed more times that I can count when I was growing up, she didn't die until a few years ago, well into her 70s.

It’s unlikely to be cancer at her age, although it can never be ruled out especially in obeasts. If she had colon cancer she’d be crapping blood, not to mention other bowel problems such as constipation, loose bowels, etc.

It wouldn’t affect her leg though, and that’s the main complaint, yes?

Like they say, look for horses, not zebras, so it’s almost certainly fat-related, which means nerve damage, degenerative discs, circulation problems, and of course, The Sugar, which can cause all of those things and more.

My best guesses:

It could be sciatica, which is a nerve that runs down your leg and can be extremely painful if pinched. I don’t know if fats are susceptible, but it happens to pregnant women when babies get heavy and press on the nerve. Could also be neuropathy, which is typically from diabetes.

It could also be a thrombosis, whether she thinks she has the symptoms or not. All she needs is that clot to break free and she could die, so she does need to see a doc.

An ultrasound or Doppler is all they’d need to get an idea of that. I doubt she can have any real scans at this point anyway, so docs are going to do a differential with just blood tests. She can afford it.

Lymphedema can be painful so I wouldn’t rule that out either; I think we know she has it in both legs but maybe more pain in one?

I think if it was nothing she’d have st least snapped it to say “take that haters.” Since she hasn’t (to my knowledge), she either doesn’t have a doctor appointment or she isn’t going to give bad news. Or, maybe she’s in a hospital?

Girl has a high pain tolerance. Many fats do because they don’t want to hear they eat too much. But there comes a time when their body starts to break down and it’s more than just pain they deal with. Infections, clots, heart disease, all can send them to the hospital whether they want it or not.

What happens when she winds up with a serious problem? If she winds up in an ER and they take what she has, but it's not enough? She has no ID, so obviously no Medicaid. She can't get SSI (again, no documents), and SSDI is for people who used to work. Does she go bankrupt? She doesn't own much, though.

In the US, emergency medical care must be rendered regardless of ability to pay (EMTALA). That's why most EDs lose money. Now, if she has to go inpatient, hospitals have a whole team of people on staff to help with financial aid. There are quiet a few programs available for people without health insurance. If she doesn't qualify, the facility will still work with her to set up a payment schedule to recoup some of the money they are owed.

I believe she has untreated diabetes, and if she is diagnosed I feel she’ll just shove her fingers in her ears, because as we all know she eats so healthy. Didn’t she say she’s afraid of taking pills? If she is put on something she might not take them. She’ll probably be put on a high dosage of Metformin. She will either take them as prescribed, but still eat nothing but crap... or forget to take them regularly. I hate being morbid, but the clock is ticking gorl.

Not familiar with Doppler but I recall knowing - and I don't know how I came to know this specifically but I spent years fat wrangling so am definitely a layperson - that once you're above a BMI of 65 or you have around three to four inches of subcutaneous fat on the region to be scanned, most imaging is useless. Could they really find the clot in her leg? I wonder they would just default to blood tests to see if there are signs of a clot and then image as a second resort.

God, she is so fat and in such bad shape. I would not be surprised if it was her sciatic nerve. She has so much weight in her lap that the nerve has to be under pressure all the time. The notable contrarian and former body builder Henry Rollins damaged his sciatic nerve so badly he can no longer work out and has a permanent limp. It's so easy to fuck up the human body that it is remarkable that AL has gone so long without becoming a continual misery case online, complaining about pain. She cannot endure hunger for a moment but she can evidently endure the sort of pain that felled a punk muscle man. Baffling.

On the thing of recouping their losses:

Remember, advil or other OTC pain killers also will cost you 50 bucks for a tablet in the hospital. Breaking Even and making a profit are to different things, and they might never make a buck off Amber if she croaks before paying out, but I'm pretty sure they'd break even. <Along with the hilarity of seeing her likely face some fun tax issues>.

If she posts in a few days with no word concerning the doctor visit, I'd say it was all a lie. Since it seems to be her method, she'll mention some thing once, and if we never hear it again, it was obviously bullshit.

If there truly is an appointment with a doctor there would be impressions on possible underlying conditions she might have. Any confirmatory diagnosis will only happen after workups-laboratory tests on blood, probably some imaging involving her heart and the veins.

My forecast is she probably would not follow through with them, make an announcement somewhere that she is in the pink of health, after which she will go on as usual.

Until the next medical event, that is.

I think she'd say something about it if there was something seriously wrong that can't just be blamed on her complete lack of self control. If all the diagnosis was a no-brainer "your skeleton is screaming out for relief from all the weight it has to support, lose weight and the pain will stop", we won't hear about it.
