Good video. Knudsen is based as usual.

Also, I'm in the video. (for a few seconds)

I admit to shedding tears at the end. I still am not over it even though this was months ago now when I found out.

It's so weird the internet makes it possible for me to feel like I lost a friend when it was logically speaking a random guy I never met and likely was never even going to meet. This was the best sendoff he could have asked for, and I kind of feel he might be watching over and smiling.

We are all Terry now.

This video's a pretty good hour and a half long video that's well researched and manages to nail even some of the smaller notable details, like his masturbation streams.

I'm exceedingly happy that he's treating TAD with respect. I know Jim's schtick is to mock, but I found his video kind of unnecessary.
Jim even said in his videos that while he found Terry's rants funny (as a lot of people online did to the point where "cia nigger" is still a common slang term on 4chan), in Jim's words "real mental illness fucks you up" and Jim compared Terry's mental condition which led to his unemployment to the made up conditions of Tumblrinas and troons (like with headmates/plurals) who attempt to use it for good boy points online (and can hold jobs at Google, unlike Terry at Ticketmaster).

You have to keep in mind Jim's video was made while Terry was alive as well and when Terry was really "getting noticed" by the internet. If anything, the posts goons made in the SomethingAwful thread where they were deliberately trying to get into a flamewar with a schizo were far more mocking than Jim's video was.

I think it may be because Terry was always genuine. A guy trying his best with a bad hand he was dealt. Despite it all he made something impressive on his own. Yeah he said and did weird shit, but dammit he never lied or tried to fool anyone. I feel like we saw someone truly unique, flaws and all, and knowing he's gone makes anyone who followed his life grieve at least a little. I just hope that wherever he is, he is at peace.

It's kind of crazy the way Terry's life resonated with so many people.

If Terry's life hadn't have been blighted by schizophrenia, you can imagine the incredibly normal life he would have lived.
The excitement he displayed when his dad said he could make hamburgers, the clarity he had when he was talking about programming... it all gave very real snippets of what Terry would have been like had he not have gotten ill.
You can easily imagine how terrible it would have been for his family, to not only deal with him, but to lose a son who had such a bright future.

It puts into perspective the impact of true mental illness, vs all the whinging bludgers that usually clog the place up.
Despite his illness, who he was was strong underneath it all, he tried his best, even if he was horrible to deal with for his family - he was loved.

There's something so wonderfully heartwarming about that.

Most of all feeling they don't need the medication and then getting increasingly more unstable is such a big and common thing with schizophrenia. These pills aren't very fun. They need to be taken in a very disciplined way. They have a huge list of side effects. Sometimes they also suddenly stop working or cause health issues and then the patient needs something else. (readjusting the medication not rarely ends in a psychotic break) With stuff like terry took, consistent, good communication with a psychiatrist is so important and often doesn't work out well, it's very tragic. We know more than we ever did about the brain but we still know very little. Terrys fate sadly isn't a rare fate. When he went homeless, I was sure there wouldn't be a good ending. I think I even mentioned it in the thread. He actually died quicker than I thought he would.

When it was disclosed in a few subreddits relating to IT that terry died, you heard similar things in the lines of "he said the bad n-word so he deserved death", it's ignorant of the nature of mental illness (actual mental illness, not stuff you make up because you wanna feel special) and shows how immature and close-minded the people complaining are.

Check out what I found in the comments.

Clearly they aren’t familiar with some of the more horrifying side effects that anti psychotics can bring on. Putting delusions of Glow In the Darks forcing you to take meds, here’s a quick run down of some of the side effects which include:

•Dry Mouth
•Weight Gain
•Tremors
•Nausea
•Heightened Risk of Heart Attack
•Hormonal imbalances (it’s not uncommon for men put on the medication to develop breasts)
•Seizure
•Can cause severe depression followed with suicide ideation
•Severe Restlessness

I could go on, but that’s just the jist of what multiple medical websites were saying antipsychotic medication can cause. None of them sound pleasant to go through and quite frankly, I don’t blame anyone for not wanting to keep using the medication if they experience those side effects.

Clearly, this person doesn’t have very much experience with schizophrenics in general. They should go visit San Francisco or Portland, away from their sheltered area and they’ll hear some of the more insane shit schizophrenics actually believe. With racial slurs included.

I get the feeling that on every other occasion, they freely label other people as being abelist for some dumb reason. They just seem like the type of person. But at least now, they can be held to their own standard by anyone else.

Edit: decided to look up the commenter, and found this comment they made to autism speaks.
