I don't think they realize you can be friends with somebody and disaaprove of what they do and tell them why.
Like I know Newgrounds is very tightly knit group, but they developed a terrible mentality when it comes to that of sticking by anyone because they are also popular on same said small website.
But I doubt they would call him out even if they wanted to as shad's fanbase is also so rabid and is conviced themselves they are some kind of "free speech," crusaders for supporting this stuff even though it not really doing anything to help.

It's pretty much the idea of just because he evokes freedom of speech that is automatically good in the eyes of most mouthbreathers. I think it's more of the fact that if some of them do speak out against it they don't want to be subjected to being targeted. I agree 100%, especially since all it does is feed the retarded "WOW LOOK HOW EDGY AND FUCKED UP SHAD IS" persona he's so carefully built up over the years. There's absolutely no need to post every single boring, pedestrian comic he shits out or feed the edgy tulpa by making low effort "ugh that's fucked up" posts. We already know. It's been established.
Barring legal intervention, the end of Shad will come because the internet as a whole is starting to realize that he's just a shitty artist - he can't draw, he's not entertaining, and it's pretty clear the Newgrounds gang, which is trying desperately at this point to get some kind of mainstream success as they hurdle into their 30s (or, in some cases, 40s), are growing apart in general and trying to distance themselves from Shad in particular.
In short, he's become boring. His fanbase CAN'T be as big as it was in 2016 when edginess was at its peak. He must be feeling that now, especially since his Patreon funding was cut off. Banner ads for porn sites can only pay the bills so much.
Hopefully, at some point soon Shad will slither off into obscurity.

It's pretty much the same thing with Chris Chan though to Chris' credit once in a blue moon when all the planets in the universe align and a star is born he might do something interesting for a week. Shad is content with his small huddle which seem to give him enough money to keep doing the same thing because that's exactly what they ask for. I doubt his own website even gives him any leverage because it's just full of randomness and people who hate every single thing he does.

What I never understand about these never-has-been artists is why they don't use their declining years to learn to draw. It's not that hard to bump up a skill level when you're starting at "can draw boobies". And I've known others who can't even manage that and they struggle mightily when the webcomic or whatever teat dried up... is planning for the future the bane of the mediocre artist?

It would not surprise me at all if shad has been using party drugs in his Hollyweird life. Would explain the brain melt and shit quality of work. We know he at least USED to go out in public with his friends, friends who all probably partied (as artists with spare money are known to do) and got fucked up. I think Shad may have done something to his brain. Just a thought.
