$2,000 for a doctor's visit to check up on a cold/nasal drip. Rrrrrrright. :story:

I can't wait for him to explain all of this bullshit at great length and fluff it up during his first pre-stream. That's going to be pure gold, I imagine. I wonder if he can keep his story straight.

There's always a small grain of truth in his stories. He isn't creative enough to come up with much of anything on his own so he always requires some aspect to be true before he starts to layer it with a semantic seizure. In this case he probably means he actually spent 2 grand on a getaway and in the middle of it was forced to make a trip to a doctor. Repeating this one aspect in his own mind enough times creates what they call the illusory truth effect. "I spent $2000 + I visited a doctor" combine neatly because he also knows that a lot of his fans (if you can call them that) are European and don't understand the particulars of American healthcare.

He gets to double dip on the idea when he gets back too and claim he's $2000 out of pocket all because a common cold almost destroyed him. That means he needs more help than ever before and all because of winter dood. Nature fucked him. Everyone can relate so that means everyone can give him a little extra christmas handout, right guise?

Afterall how else does he get sick without hopping on a germ-ridden plane or something when he barely leaves the house and Katherine isn't sick either?

Why are you guys taking him at his word? How do we know he's not just lying about being ill?

While I am always skeptical of anything DSP says, he's also the kind of person where you don't have to make up anything for him because the things he actually does/that we can actually prove are lolcow enough. We don't need to make up theories for DSP.

For example, we can speculate that this is a super secret vacation, but if we were actually wrong, that just feeds his ideas that we make up stuff about him and he gains the moral high-ground so to speak.

Instead, we can focus on the things he actually says, which is that he's been super sick for three whole days and he can't go to the hospital because it apparently costs him $2K+ to get a GP appointment.

There's no need to be wrong about vacation speculation when we can just focus on the fact that he's claiming he's too rich yet too poor to afford medical attention.

You don't pay for insurance and also pay 2k for a fucking urgent care visit.

Shit costs 25-50 bucks on damn near any insurance plan.

All I can think of was in 2015 he either didn't have insurance or went to the hospital for his cold.

25 bucks visit, maybe 10 bucks for meds if the doctor doesnt recommend nyquil.

Less than this dumbass spent on his Extra Special Tradition Chinese.

I said it in the other thread but just to reiterate here. There's a decent chance that real intelligent human adult Phil Burnell went to a doctor not in his insurance network. That would result in him paying the bulk of the costs of everything and could get up to around $2k easily with lab testing and whatnot. That would also explain the multiple bills, as there would be bills from the doctor visit, the lab that did the testing, and so on.

I once had to have full surgery (which was fairly common) with pre-surgery anesthetic, general anesthetic as well as an optional full nights hospital stay and all post-care medication. The entire cost was only about $2500 (no health insurance) including post-surgery follow up appointments.

I can't understand how he ran up a $2000 bill visiting a doctor a few times. Especially because you can explain your financial situation to a doctor prior to them ordering 50 tests and they will usually be very happy to work with you and try to do the best they can without costing you thousands of dollars.

When a doctor says "I'd like to get your bloodwork done today" you can easily ask "ok, how much does that cost?" and also "I'm extended a bit financially right now, are these tests absolutely necessary?"

Instead, we can focus on the things he actually says, which is that he's been super sick for three whole days and he can't go to the hospital because it apparently costs him $2K+ to get a GP appointment.

Here's some other things he's said about doctors, which all display the following:
  • He has no real idea of what a doctor costs (its either $75 or $7000) without ever having called to ask.
  • He has no idea of what his previous doctor visits costed (its either $1000, $2000, $1500 for his 2015 visit, or $300 for his gout visit)
  • He plans his doctors visits more than a month in advance for some reason
  • He loves to bring up that visiting a doctor isn't an option on Sunday (apparently back on the mean streets of CT every single clinic/pharmacy would be closed on Sunday so I guess you're dead if you're sick)
  • Either his health insurance covers nothing or he tried to sign up for a better one that actually covers something after a "coaching session" with his parents
Best tweet is this, where he says in July that his doctors visit from April ended up costing $1000 over 6 bills.

This nigga and his stacks of bills, he must be asking these companies to send him separate alphabetized invoices in morse code.

Its obvious he just avoids doing something like going to a doctor as much as possible. None of what he says makes sense at all.

EDIT: all of these tweets are fucking great

This is how you know his back doesn't bother him at all. Dude gets a basic "cold" and he won't shut the fuck up about it.

Couldn't you just imagine how awful he would be if he had legit back problems like he claims?

That actually is something I never thought of. This mother fucker will complain about anything and everything that causes him even the littlest of grievance but the back is a silent issue until he needs to bring it up to have an excuse to not do something.

Sounds like if he got his tonsils out it would cure half these problems he's having.
Yeah, something I posted earlier this week: I think most of his recurring throat issues are a direct or an indirect result of his nasal drip. If he gets that sorted, there's a high chance of him having far less throat issues, especially with the type of stuff he does on a daily basis (streaming, talking, yelling, whining, ACK-ACK-ing). Or at least get one check-up every couple of years, just to get an indication of the problems, if and how they're treatable, the costs etc.

But instead, he tries to come up with every excuse in the book to not see a doctor. Maybe he's afraid of doctors/the consequences or maybe he's legit worried about the costs. Though, regarding the latter, it doesn't make any sense, because the very fact he's not seeing a doctor could very well be the reason he's losing money because he needs to skip streams because of throat issues. I mean: on average, how much (bits + tips) is he not earning when he's not streaming? Like $150-200 for a double stream day? Dood should see a doctor's appointment as an investment in his career, no matter the costs (to a certain level, of course).

And just for anyone who's unaware, that tweet about medicine costing $35 minimum is abject bullshit--the vast majority of non-specialized medicine is available in generic form, which you can almost always get for $5-15 for a typical prescription. The only medicine costing $35 or more per prescription is either name-brand or specialized medicine not available in a generic. That alone illustrates just how ignorant and/or full of shit Phil is about going to a doctor.

Generic? LOL Phil only buys the top quality name brand stuff from local pharmacies and made by local businesses.

This pre stream would have been soo much fun...

What kind of loser tweets about a simple visit to the Dr; AND announces he will talk about it to his payees online hahaha

Pigroach is pretty much lying about not wanting to work by my reckoning. This death cold is almost certainly just the Pig being a drunk and depressed wreck due to the time of year and those retrospectives reminding him he's a failure and alone, all while dealing with the hangovers. His being too sick to play is just him being a big cowardly baby who can't nut up and say "I don't feel like it today"; just like the kid he still has the emotional maturity of.

He doesn't often completely fabricate things, but he does if his brain thinks it's the best option to assuage his ego or biggen himself up in front of an audience. Case in point where he lies about being a big manly man throughout his life; lying about getting girls and pumping iron in school. It's obvious based on his lump physique that he at best just did PE and even then not that much about it, but because he wants to be a big boy and macho as fuck, he will lie and posture to try and avoid facing the reality he's a noodly armed cowardly faggot who probably lusted after John more than Leanna.

I don't think Kat has left the building, then again the recent picture maybe old. I remember when Leanna left after the hospital incident, DSP was trolled pretty bad up to the point he made the announcement that he broke up with her.

Watching the Master Run of Street Fighter, because no one ever did a TIHYDP, that I could find. And goddamn he is such a bitch. The first time he gets he starts bitching. He never ever ever ever stops bitching about how much damage the AI does. And he is just pulling the cheesiest strategies. And then gets so salty when his chat calls him out on it.

I am so glad I am watching former pro play this. I am learning so much

That's probably because his back pain has more to do with his muscles being atrophied to the size of an elderly person than whatever medical explanation he gave.

DSP attacking some dude who was trying to help him with toxicity lol. I think DSP thought he was a detractor cause he listed "maker of misplays" in his bio. I think it is referring to something else though. The guy is a father and dsp called him "kid".

The snorting can't get worse. Can it? I mean, he does it out of sheer spite a lot of times. Is he essentially gonna claim he's got a doctor's to do it now.

Thank fuck I don't watch his shit anymore, that shit is some of the most unappealing shit anyone can do to an audience. Should be a bannable offense if you ask me.

Absolute degenerate, parents must be proud.

About the $2000 doctor visit: I wonder if it could really be true. Maybe instead of going to some sort of walk-in/urgent care clinic, he called around to expensive specialists till he found one that would take him on a moment's notice. Like, calling up a world-famous brain surgeon to stitch up a cut on his finger, something like that. It would absolutely fit his M.O.
