Yeah, my first time with oil pastels. I feel like I need to take courses in these things so it's not all self-taught trial 'n error for me, but I'll have to wait until some money comes in.

Spoiler: A bit of a rant about this piece, it's just my tired brain wanting to vent

I did this as a commission for a guy - well, I'm still doing it (some of it is still half done and I'm not working on it more til I see a receipt for the donation). I can't fucking believe I told him to donate the money to charity - the blood, sweat and endless torrent of tears because I don't know how to imply translucency using lighting effects alone is killing me should have warranted ME some payment regardless of my hangups about my fucking artwork holy shit I'm never taking tumblr commissions again FUCK those guys all he had to do was choose an amount and donate but apparently that's too fucking hard [string of expletives][/rant]

And something a little cheerier - I have been working on a picture of a reading faun, I can't wait to keep working on it although I think it was a little too ambitious for my current skill level but it's been a lot of fun to think about it - I've put her on hold for exams but I'll be damn happy when I can finish it up!

I've been having a really, really rough time with my art lately. Lot of emotions and negative things effecting me and coping's been harder than usual but I just finished this up. I feel nice about it even if its just a line art in between anatomy exercises. Proportions on the sword/shield are off cause I didn't want to measure I just wanted to draw.

Here's an oldie, 12 years ago I doodled this comic in a composition notebook for fun. Nothing much for a first time, and I was still in that weaboo stage of my life when I did this. I also feel I made a Scott Pilgrim-before-Scott Pilgrim with my main character. You can blame me for ruining comics with just this one effort I didn't share until recently (because I knew it would happen soon enough).


Sometime later I started on a more manga-style comic, some sort of teenage romatic comedy type piece where a guy begins the day with a mysterious girl sleeping in his bed. I think I lost interest quickly because I couldn't draw a hot chick that well.
