I rather miss Leigh’s nightly drunken twitter storms as they progressed each evening to the 2am unintended window into the truth of authors dark twisted soul, folled several hours later by the 1pm “morning wake up and hangover” where she deleted and disavowed all, only to start the process again by 5. Reading her early Gamergate rantings was like a fascinating study of deviant psychology and human failure.

Yet another lack of even the most rudimentary basics of so-called journalistic ethics.

And these outlets still think nobody will call them out on this bullshit, and that they can do shit like this and have any reputation at all as anything other than garbage.

I mean, you aren't wrong but I'm not certain anyone who really cares about journalistic ethics reads The Verge or anything on the Vox network.

Multi-layered hurt. It hurts that I thought this was a photoshop/parody headline at first. Then it hurt when I checked the archive link and saw it's a meaningful article but from a sub 100K Alexa-ranking site. It hurt again when I think of the coin-flip of hate/indifference it would receive for doing real journalism, and that real journalism is almost completely dead and this is the exception and not the norm.

Kudos for catching this though
