You notice how they never come to the obvious conclusion? That their goddess is a filthy slut who sucks and fucks anything in order to get what she wants. If ever you were to look up a definition for “Toxic Femininity” I”m pretty sure it would include a picture of Chelsea.

Bravo! Well done! It works on so many levels, including the realization that Quinn probably is a health code violation for any restaurant she enters.

The complete graphical overhaul that The Last Night had seems like it would be expensive and time-consuming. I wouldn't be surprised if that was way more relevant to the game being stuck in production hell than anything that Hurricane Zoe did.

I sure as shit hope so. The alternative fucking sucks.

Oh, they KNOW it, but they can never outright admit it. Even Jake "SecretGamerGirl" Alley know this is true, but even he won't admit it.

Doing so means nearly a decade of autism spent defending her morally bereft ass was done in the full knowledge they defended someone who did not deserve it and that they perpetuated a lie they tried to make everyone else believe.

They would rather deny God before they will admit fault on this.

If anyone takes GG serious and believe they cant look wrong about having a shitty opinion on a milky hog-slut is retarded.

People and things change. Why defend a obvious scam artist? It just makes you look bad in connection.

This. It's been five years, now.

I still cannot understand for the life of me why so many people suicide-bombed their entire careers over her, and yet despite the sheer volume of people who fucked themselves inside-out doing so, she still gets people willing to do it.

There are religious cults that would love to know how she pulls this shit off.

I can't read "gaming journalism ethics" without taking it about as seriously as "hardcore pornography decency."

I was involved in the gamergate spergery, as a spectator, off and on from around the beginning. Maybe my memory is failing me, but I don't think so. Early on, the majority seemed to believe that journalism was good and true (aside from faux news). The argument was, "If only the legitimate journalists knew of this, they would police their own and fix the problem."

So many people were convinced that Colbert would just eviscerate Anita. They thought their preferred news sources would defend the integrity of journalism, because they are pursuing the Truth. /pol/tards were arguing from the beginning that this was political, but the majority was, as far as I could tell, legit left libertarian. They knew better. Things did not work out too well for the idealists.

From the perspective of a person that viewed John Stewart and the New York Times as a legitimate sources of factual unbiased information, the "ethics in game journalism" thing makes sense. It's kind of funny that refusing to listen to Nazis hurt their cause and got them labeled Nazis anyway. Life is funny sometimes.

@KillThemCrackasBabies on suicide watch right now, your sworn enemy the Quarterpounder or the whore Quinn, which side are you on my nigga???

You do realize that the reason he follows Hamblyburger Helper at the first place is because Hambly's a gigantic Autist who causes bigger Autists to freak the fuck out, right? He's like a hobo that causes dumpster fires to get worse in his tragic (read: hilarious) efforts to stay warm for the night.

It's worth noting that the "Actually, it's about ethics" meme was started by Anti-GGers specifically as a means of brushing off actual discussion of breaches of ethics.

Something something broken clocks twice a day.

lol, figures. My memory is kind of hazy on a lot of this. Who expected this shit to still be around? The main thing was, people genuinely believed that journalism, as a whole, was ethical. The majority also hated Fox News. Am I remembering that right?

So what you are saying is the actual historical Helen of Troy was actually a marshmallow shaped pink haired sociopath? I can see it. "The face that sank a thousand ships" and all.

As mentioned pages ago, I called her "the face that sucked a thousand dicks" and another poster called her "Helen of Soy".

Not quite, but anyone can be forgiven for not remembering the situation at the time.

There was a hell of a lot of Autism flying around and it was hard enough to keep one's head down long enough.

Game Journalism in particular had been fucking worthless for a while by the time GG happened - an engaged alternative press was now the new normal, and general consensus was that conventional Games Journalism had been dead since print Media started to die. Scandal after scandal had rendered the Games press about as well-liked as an impacted bowel, and more outlets devoted to "Games" were sperging about intersectional Social Justice than about the games themselves by the time GG occurred.

Fox actually began its reputation recovery specifically because of Milo's actions in exposing the Game Journo Pros list. In many ways, the GJP leak was like a Games Journalism version of JournoList, a group of left-wing news commentators and activists headed up by Ezra Klein, that were conspiring with one another back in 2010. Many people who looked into GJP found out about JournoList, and suddenly a lot more about the ongoing scandal that would become GG made a hell of a lot more sense and became that much more chilling. There was provably an ongoing campaign to support Quinn, mislead the public, and actively shut down anyone who dared criticize her. The leaks also established that several in the GJP logs were financially supporting Quinn.

The bulk of GG was provably left-leaning, if not outright liberal, with a smattering of centrists and right-wingers. For these people, The revelation of GJP (and subsequent similarities to JournoList) made them realize that there was active, organized, and ongoing attempts to mislead them, bury the truth, and outright delegitimize anyone who dared criticize someone whose biggest accomplishment so far was creating a fucking game in Twine, and that the Left was openly complicit with the cover-up. It led to them asking the big questions, and looking into Media they'd been told was too biased to be worth listening to.

Can someone give me a quick rundown on comicsgate? I'm late as fuck, I know, but I only just heard about it not too long ago

A group assholes, through blatant cronyism, effectively took over the mainstream comic industry and ran it into the ground. They wrote terrible fucking comics with writing that made the worst gold and silver age concepts look fucking subdued in contrast, and yet despite failing over and over and selling like liquid ass cancer, none of them faced any meaningful ramifications for this.

Eventually it came out, as it tends to do, that the people responsible for this shit were openly in collusion with one another and were conspiring to gatekeep the industry, not because they were even remotely successful at comics, but because they didn't want the fans taking an industry back from the hivemind. Eventually comics fans responded by crowdfunding their own comics, many of which were successful, and which in turn led Mark Waid to committ tortious interference in an attempt to stop one of their critics from producing a book.

TL;DR: Same culture war shit that caused GG, only the infection got way deeper in the case of Comic Books. There is a reason so many Anti-CGers were mainstay Anti-GGers. It's the same fucking idiocy none of us can get away from and which will not relent until the ideology behind it wears itself dry.

I'd have to say that comicsgate was worse for me than GG, I can always find another game to play if one developer fucks up, I couldn't do that with comics. That shit ran its course in Marvel, DC, IDW, Darkhorse, and Image. It didn't leave a lot of comics to read after that so it killed my interest in collecting them. As someone who bought every comic every week I found myself with a large disposable income I could spend elsewhere because the industry I cared for for decades had turned it's back on me. I didn't even care enough anymore to continue collecting older comics at conventions. The whole industry was and still is dead to me.

Also, I would buy the graphic novels too if they had new artwork on the cover, that was rare though.
