Plagued Waifu culture - Cartoon fuckpillows and the men (and women) who love them

Heads up, a similar community to r/waifuism is emerging on Twitter called the #ObsessiveShippersClub, though the hashtag #SelfShip is also used. It consists of people who call themselves "self-shippers", people who ship themselves with a fictional character.
Seems like your post got some attention.

They don't seem too happy about that.

In fact I would say they are pretty scared. Some people in these conversations have already set their twitter to protected status. Being a self-shipper is a dangerous activity these days.

Although some enjoy the attention, like this guy and his real (fictional) lovers.

BrideOfHarkness (Twitter Archive) is currently screencapping every reply in this thread and is reposting everything on their twitter. Let's hope they don't try to ship with us in the process. I'm not into massively autistic people.

Just post some shit about notorious pedophile Jonathan "Jessica" Yaniv and if Harkness reposts it, his account goes away.

these people have only added two pages to the thread and they think a cabal is after them
:story:
Seriously, the amount of twitter threads they made about us is larger than the number of posts so far about this group of selfshippers.

Self-shippers are probably checking out this thread so I'm just gonna say this:

You need to calm the fuck down. You can have that one fictional character you admire because of certain traits, but claiming that a drawing (made by an actual person) with a story (also made by an actual person) attached to it has a real life relationship with you says a lot about how you deal with people. Have you considered what the creators would think if a socially inept person inserts themselves into canon they've constructed? If someone wanted to marry one of my characters I would feel as if they got their dirty hands on my work. If you feel like your mental health gets so bad if you participate in this anti-social behavior, you should seek professional help.

Also, we're not looking for attention. We're looking for things to make fun of.

Wow, we went from zero to famous with the not-waifuists in hours, that must be a record. Think one of the plebbitors warned them?

Pls don't whiteknight. They can talk to a friend or a professional if they want to get better.

Just learned about this splinter group named 'WaifuSoulmates'

CaptainGrovyle, the mentally ill Ruby 'waifuist' that was brought up earlier in this post couldn't live with the harsh reality that his waifu has more than 1 obsessed loser jerking over her pictures so he decided to ragequit /r/waifuism and launched his own community where only 1 person per waifu is allowed. This is by far one of the saddest things I've seen so far.

It’s amazing to me that so many people afraid of getting fun of would air such embarrassing behavior online in the first place. Also the cringe factor of having a room full of Waifu shit knowing 100% they live with their parents, yikes.

Also that guy’s waifu looks about 9 years old, wtf
