“When did adult movies become secret meetings for evil adults?”

Methinks someone missed the point of the entire series.

Why does Smash Bros. have a DMOS page?

I don;t get that shit either. Most of that list is just general bitching, not game ruining moments.

DMOS is supposed to be things so bad they retroactively turn the whole experience into bullshit, like playing an awesome game all the way through, only to get a five minute ending that spends the entire time kicking you senselessly in the balls for even bothering.

None of the things they mention would poison the entire well irrevocably.

It's by extremely low functioning autists, though. Maybe some absolutely tiny thing that nobody sane would even notice really did ruin their whole experience of something retroactively.

Speaking of Dethroning Moment of Suck, here's someone's complaint about a Kids Next Door episode.

:story:
Looks like someone is an little too young to be watching movies.

Plus, that last Predator movie was pretty stupid.

The TvTropes YMMV page has weighed in on the Rising of the Shield Hero controversy and I'm surprised with the nuance when it comes slavery:

Misaimed Fandom: After the first episode of the anime, some viewers criticized the series for its portrayal of slavery as being a good thing. However, the series never portrays slavery as a good thing; Naofumi's "slaves" are people he saved from either abusive masters, or are people he is providing a better life for. While they are slaves in the literal sense, the series doesn't glorify slavery at all, and instead shows how horrible a system like it really is.

I understand that it's just the trope name, but for some odd reason I'm not particularly surprised by them referring to "multiple allegations of rape and sexual misconduct" as a "misdemeanor."

Well, you have just brought up a problem my friend Brent Laabs identified as a flaw with troping sites.

By design, they use certain language for the names of tropes, and as all language can be permissive or restrictive in definition, so can all names of tropes alter their meaning and perception. Synonyms may alleviate the problem, but much like the newspeak of 1984, the new words can alter the entire tone of the original sentences they are summing up.

At least with So Bad It's Horrible it's semi-required to do some research before you add an entry.

Yeah, about that. The history of the anime/manga is just whiny and nitpicking at best. If there's a anime that isn't doing well with the otakus the editor will say "but the ratings isn't that bad!" And use MAL and anime database as a defense mechanism way too much. There's the editor's reasons to delete the infamous shitty Master of Martial Hearts;
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Horrible.AnimeAndManga

Reason:While these have negative reviews on MAL, Ani DB.net on the other hand have these anime scored closer to mixed than full negative; therefore under the first note these are not applicable. Plus I've seen them and it's mostly critics over reacting and nitpicking.

You know you're dealing with an anime that's infamous with it's non-stop fanservice shot all over the screen and one of the most laughable plot twist ending known to anime ever, right? Oh well, this is tv tropes after all. They'll defend anything that is a turd and say "but it's still good you guys!!" on YMMV to prove a point.

Anyone who takes MAL ratings seriously/uses them as a defense mechanism needs to be shot on the spot.

Seriously, they serve the same purpose Netflix's five-star system used to. You use the MAL rating, the show's description and maybe the top review (if it's not completely autistic, which there's a good chance it will be) to see if an anime you want to watch is worth watching. That's it. An individual's MAL can say a fair bit about what they enjoy, but a show's average rating might not necessarily be indicative of it's quality, especially if it's a meme show. Fucking "Pingu in The City", a children's animated claymation short, was the number one rated anime at some point lmao

I'd love to scan Tvtropes for some drama right now, but why is it that EVERY website nowadays keeps redirecting you to annoying ads that wont let you click back? Literally every with ads seems to do this nowadays. I was just redirected twice in a span of less than two minutes. Kiwifarms was actually doing this at one point but thankfully they fixed it.

I cringed hard at NoName's post. Innocent until proven guilty is across the board, unless it's people like you doing it, where it's guilty until proven innocent. Kazuya probably has an Asian fetish, which makes sense because of the Japanese name in the username.
