I'm so sad at the thought that he got this troubled kid to trust him enough to vent about suicidality and self-harm when in reality Starry was only communicating with the kid to get fodder to feed the hungry kiwis to appease them. He was willing to throw someone who thought he was a friend to the wolves in return for... what? A couple approving messages?

And I fully expect that he dropped the kid instantly when he learned he wouldn't be getting brownie points here for his information. The kid's life and suffering is just a tool to him. Like hell will he bother to listen to some 15-year-old whine about his life for a second longer than it benefits him.

I actually hope that's the case. My mind went right back to the original stalking incident. He came here looking for us to PA someone he was obsessed with after being scorned by them. Then, he comes back basically trying to "sell" us a new cow in the exact same way, not so subtly dropping hints we should go after this person and giving us the basic means to do so with at most vague reasons of "this person is a cow". It was bad enough the first time, but it becomes even more fucked up if this time it was a 15 year old he was obsessing over.

Alright, so I'm going to go ahead and disregard most posts that were made since my last response in this thread. Unfunny fanfiction, to be sure.

Anyway, I want to backtrack a bit to an earlier post that was explaining about the doxxing rule.

So, apparently, there is indeed a rule against using the information to directly harass a target. Okay, I get that, it's a good rule...

...but here's the loophole. What's stopping a KF member from just logging out and going out of their way to target someone away from the website? Or, worse, what's stopping some random psychopath from finding a thread via Google in order to find a new target for something beyond just laughing at them from afar?

I have to assume this possibility had to cross some staff member's mind, and I feel this is the real reason some people have tried (and failed) to press charges against this website. They're not afraid of anyone on here targeting them, but what COULD result from said information being posted.

Feel free to point out if I was way off-base with this post.

You're absolutely right. That won't stop people from blaming the website for "hosting" the information in the first place.

I think there's a good middle-ground where the thread could still have a lot of information about the lolcow while helping to cut down on the lawsuit spam. Just post the lolcow's city and state rather than their full home address. If KF's goal is not targeted harassment, as has been said by multiple people now, then I fail to see why this would be a problem. It doesn't compromise the humor value at all.
