It's a sanctioned MMA fight, not backyard Mexican wrestling. They probably won't allow masks.
Eh, they allowed it years ago with one fighter who famously go KTFO by the Cro Cop special.
People predicted he would do this way, way back when the fight was first announced. This is even worse than suddenly backing down, this looks like he is actively trying to set up some other guy to fight under his name. We are expecting Donga to show up, and instead it's a 6 foot 5 T Hawk ready to wreck Andy's shit.

That fight was in Japan (in PRIDE I belive). Anything goes there.

Wearing a luchador mask in a sanctioned amateur MMA fight on US soil isn't realistic.

How deluded is Donga and co. to not think the chieftain is trying to skip the fight. I saw a screenshot where the tool/scammer Broski said Andy is still trying to back out.

What the fuck do they see? Or are they all subservient to the cult-leader?
Have you seen the Kumitards? It's practically Hills Have Eyes tier genetics minus any bestial cleverness

Even if they do him a favor, which doesn't seem likely with all the hoops this promoter had to jump through, it's a dumb idea to wear a mask. It's hard to breathe and see, two things you would probably want to be able to do in a fight. This is ignoring all the talk of a ringer getting sent of course.

Been keeping one eye in this since it was announced and it's fitting that it will be a shit show all the way up to the day, the day itself, and the fallout. Don't watch eithers content, but it is rare and always interesting when an internet feud seeps into the real world.

Ah, fair. IIRC, only the Japanese are crazy enough to permit soccer kicks and stomps to the head of a downed opponent as a legal move.
And yet, no elbows to the head of a downed opponent. Japanese MMA is strange.

I'm curious how Donga plans to spin this news, though.

how much does he have to pay if he back out of this for no good reason?

No idea. Lacking knowledge of the contract they signed, I'm assuming there's a clause in there allowing for them to penalize an individual that reneges or otherwise voids the contract through word or deed. In short, this decision by Tonka to go with a legal name change, and not let the promoter know could be grounds for breach of contract and a lawsuit. Under normal circumstances since Tonka is literally a nobody on the circuit, the promoter would likely write him off as a failure and let others in the business know. However, given the hurdles this promoter has had to deal with, the constant headache of Tonka opening his mouth and causing drama, this name change and the subsequent texts lying about Andy (saying he's reading the contract live) and trying to get the fight cancelled "because of Andy" when Andy's been the only one acting in good faith with Tim, I could see them bringing a lawsuit against Tonka. Not to recoup any losses for the breach, but to set a precedent.

It was from the first of Prides secondary show Bushido and the mask wearer was the fake wrestler known better as Alberto Del Rio, so for the purpose of the upcoming fight there is a precedent for a drug taking, shit talking fake wrestler to fight in MMA wearing a mask

I fully expected Donga would try and weasel out ever since the time two days after the initial announcement when Failure slid up in Andy's DMs and tried (and almost succeeded) to gaslight him about how the terms of the contract were grossly slanted against him, but him trying to get a ringer was solely in the "whats the most absurd way this can play out" theory crafting stage.

He'll keep calling Andy bitchmade, same as he always does when he gets caught in his bullshit
Yep, he'll never admit that he did anything less than honorable and will repeat proven lies blaming Andy. And because the Kumite is effectively the Island of Misfit Fags, made up of people "bullied" and "wronged" by other internet people, his audience will continue to believe it, because if Tonka's the strong man they aren't total losers for being all up on his flaccid dick.

Andy mentioned during yesterdays stream that Tonka was confirmed to have changed his name from Michael -> Robby between the time of the contract signing and the bloodwork. Im guessing the name change to Robby is a (failed) panic move to try to escape the consequences of backing out?

Regardless, this guy is such a pathetic shitstain. And I say this as someone who occasionally enjoyed the Kumite during the IBS heydays.

It's no problem changing your name it doesn't void contracts you have in your old. You just need the paperwork to prove it. If he has that it's not even an issue. And it is the only way they would have allowed that to happen. It's just spergsky making a fuss and clickbatining, he should be aware of this.

The problem is that there is no reason for him to change his name before the fight unless he is trying to mess with it. Plus, he didn't bring this up at all before the bloodwork was turned in (to the best of my knowledge).

Well frankly he don't have to inform anyone about it. Because he is still the same entity. All he needs is paperwork to back it up. There is no problem at all, other then being a weird thing to do. Because it's not like it changes anything for him or anyone else. Except it maybe is some mind game he plays to psyche out Andy. (which actually did have an effect)
