She probably does it because she knows she writes a shitton of dialogue for the characters. You can see it in some panels she specifically leaves space for the word bubbles. But instead of using "show don't tell" she wants to preach to the audience. That's why her panels look so off. They aren't drawn to show the characters. They're drawn to show the speech bubbles.

My favorite part is that Aidan’s last panel where he recommends consulting a doctor about possible gender dysphoria or other transgender related questions is treated like the ultimate hate speech. Labelle knows he’s a fraud, just like other troons, which is why they always screech about “gate-keeping” and detest medical professionals who research gender dysphoria and can diagnose whether a patient is genuinely transgender.

And, for the last time, YOU HAVE TO HAVE GENDER DYSPHORIA TO BE TRANSGENDER!!!!!!! That is how it works, that’s the whole point of being “trans.” Otherwise, it’s like saying you have lymphoma with no tumors.

I have wanted for so long preferably publicly say to people who believe at “trans isn’t mental illness” that I agree and we should together work to remove coverment and insurance coverage from lifestyle based plastic surgery. If it’s not an illness then why should taxpayers or health insurance pay for your nip & tuck. That is just wrong.

I don’t think Billy, Riley Dennis or the many other trans activists get that trans being seen as a mental illness is crucial for people’s general acceptance and willingness to help with transitioning. I have said it multiple times but there is no true way to change gender, only tools to pretend more convincingly. People try treat transwomen as women because it’s a mental illness that can in certain circumstances be treated best by pretending to be the opposite gender. If the mental illness is removed it’s nothing more than make believe and why would general public be interested to take part of it, especially footing the bill?

all it is at this point is a book, specifically a book full of the authors own opinions. a book that transitioned into a comic by attaching some useless visuals to itself that dont actually work

Schrodinger's mental illness. Being apart of the transgender community and it being called a mental illness is bad, but everyone else who suffers with Depression, Anxiety, and other such things being known as a mental illness is good.

Really, acting like transgender people having a mental illness is a bad thing is really dumb. If it gets diagnosed it means more people are likely to understand and look up treatments to help you. Labelle and others seem to believe that having your problems with mental illness somehow invalidate their experiences...unless they really aren't mentally ill and just don't want to be discovered for it. It's harder to pretend to be trans if you can actually medically prove it.

There's the problem: If trans is a mental illness, you need a doctor to sign off on your hormones and surgery. Any shrink who sees Bill knows damn well he's not trans, so in his eyes, they're evil gatekeepers trying to deny him life-saving medication.

I have to get doctor's note for antibiotics, mangling your dick or taking pill that make aggressive changes to your body should have at least this high level of requirements.
