Unlike cis men, we also get to choose our dick size, get a working one just like yours, and may even be better in bed than all of you haters are. Even black trans are less likely to be killed than other black men, but it stands to reason that the lives they lead are inherently less dangerous. I’m assuming that black trans tend to hang out with gay men, queens, and actual women, which has to massively decrease their risk factors, genuine transphobia notwithstanding.
But it’s anyone guess what the homicide rate is specifically among black trans prostitutes. If you are a tomboy, like sports, ‘boy things’ etc you get told you’re a boy.
A high proportion of girls referred to gender clinics in the uk are autistic as well. Or will just turn out to be gay.
To push these girls down a medical pathway is grotesque. Puberty blockers are awful drugs with lifelong effects. Puberty is needed to create an adult human - half your bone density is laid down in puberty and cognitive development needs it. Cross sex hormones do not create a ‘real’ puberty.
We are sterilising a generation of gay kids. It’s such a homophobic ideology.
The lawsuits from this are going to be epic - when an entire cohort realises they were groomed, sterilised and mutilated. Note also that early and full medicalisation is pushed for children, but demedicalisation is pushed by the older, Male AGP demographic.

Informed consent means the patient agreed to the procedures after being informed of the risks beforehand and has no right to sue, all consequences are theirs to deal with. What, you think those doctors would go ahead and do this, maiming and chemically poisoning mentally ill people at their own request, if they didn't cover their asses legally first? Doctors agreed to the abolition of gatekeeping demanded by the troons only when there was a way to get around the legal consequences through informed consent or getting patients to sign away their patient rights in exchange for "treatment".

at the very least - lawsuits will bring this to everyone's attention like the lawsuits during satanic panic era. kids sudddenly had 'recovered memories' & accused innocent parents of taking them to devil ceremonies & raping them there, etc. one of these scenarios was even lifted wholesale from frantic news reports & shows up in 1st chapter of malachi martin's 'windswept house' novel. it was everywhere for awhile like troons are now. also weird offshoots of it, like the recovered memory movement, multiple personality & so on. we could compare this to the weird offshoots like 'nonbinary' - which arrived with the troonery but really has little to do with it.
if you saw law & order svu episode with amy irving and shirley knight (no time to look it up now), remember they busted the therapist (played by knight) over bogus recovered memories. this was based on a real case. if adults are providing a service called counseling or gender analysis or 'your glitter family' or whatever it is, YES they can be found liable. as in the tv show, it will be a rich family who finally goes after the glitter family intruders & it won't be pleasant.
that will be the torpedo that takes out the sub, but may take years to happen yet.

Informed consent isn’t enough - not if thebpatoent is t really aware of what they’re consenting to. There are a few issues here.
1. Doctors retain responsibility for what they prescribe. So a drug used off label for a condition that’s been used for that condition for twenty years with good safety record - that doc isn’t getting sued. But a doc prescribing an off label drug for something that’s not got much safety data or ‘standard of care useage’ - that doc might get sued.
Puberty blockers (usually Lupron in the USA and triptorelin in uK) are not approved for gender questioning or blocking puberty in healthy kids so for the trans uses they’re being used off label. Now that in and of itself isn’t an issue (as above) as long as the doc can show that puberty blockers are ‘the standard of care.’
That’s why the TRA groups are pushing so hard for changes to the DSM and ICD and for widespread prescribing - the more people are on board with it the less likely it is that these kids will be able to sue
2. Gillick competence wasn’t ever meant for this. It was meant for situations like getting fifteen year olds the pill to treat painful periods without parental consent.
So will ‘you signed an ICF’ be enough? I don’t know. The FDA is also looking into Lupron and it’s side effects (horrific, and a whole other thread) so it will be interesting to see how this pans out. All too late for the kids involved of course. They will be left sterile, mutilated and with crumbling bones.

consent is more complex than just signing. In clinical trials for example, children are a vulnerable population as is anyone with any kind of mental issue. In trials, for example, a child must ASSENT and a competent adult/guardian CONSENT. The doctor would need to assess the child’s ability to consent. That’s why changing the standard of care is a key goal for TRAs.
Key is that the informed consent IS actually informed. If the information given is wrong (ie puberty blockers are totes reversible sign here sonny boy) then it gets more complex still.
I’m not a lawyer but it would be interesting to hear the opinion of anyone who works in the field of medical claims/class lawsuits.

There's some precedent for treating minors without involving the parents. A 14-year-old can visit Planned Parenthood for birth control and/or abortion without parental notification in many states. Minors can also seek psychiatric help privately. PP is increasingly becoming an "informed consent" (rubber stamp) for cross-sex hormones, so it's possible they'd argue that a minor came in suicidal from dysphoria and the prospect of telling the parents, so they rendered medical assistance with the hormones.
