I like Danny, awkward and weird as he is, but I think that’s largely because compared to Arin he’s a much more rounded human being. Might be due to him just being older and a little more world wise, too.

No kidding if Dan broke off with Bryan to do their own LP show I think they'd do pretty good. Dan playing point and click games by himself for the GG channel are absolute gems. You can tell he really loves them and is super passionate about it. The one time he played a point and click with Arin he was fairly dismissive of the game and it felt awkward. I felt so bad for Dan.

Speculation is as follows:
Possibly, back when GamerGate first started and Arin backed Anita Sarkeesian - he was subscribed to her too on Youtube for the longest time - several of the OG NG like Zack called him out on his bullshit whiteknighting. Since then Arin backed a lot of failed SJW stuff like female Thor to which Chris actively mocked. Chris went on record to say, "good friends of mine at the time" when discussing female Thor being garbage.

Chris is not anti-SJW, he still doesn't like them, but he is absolutely politically incorrect. Except when people say nigger on his show because he's not dumb about optics. The more Arin got worse the more likely Chris being Chris was hurting their friendship. Not to mention Suzy chimping out about Dream Daddy to two actual gays. Arin said no more JonTron and Chris had him on his let's play -- didn't even bring up the Destiny Debate, too, what a bro.

Chris also tends to forgive people for being edgy if they're otherwise genuine. For all of Shad's faults Chris won't drop him because Shad has always had his back and described him as the guy that would do anything for a friend. A good egg. Arin has dropped people for optics and likely would drop them for association.

At one point Arin actually blocked Zack, but I dunno what came of that since. Might have been a gag, but usually they all block the target to see their reaction. Arin was the only one.

In the Tweet, Arin looks like absolute shit. Bags under his eyes, skinny: he looked like a Ghoul from the Fallout series masquerading in makeup, it was so terrible.

Naturally, this got a lot of people very, VERY worried about both his physical state, and his mental state, in regards to the channel, with most fearing a complete shutdown of Game Grumps. In essence, the fandom went into panic mode.

...Of course, flash-forward to the actual announcement video and you'll see that, while it was a downsize in their previous content in favor of other options with which to "appease the YouTube Algorithm" and as to "not fire their friends", Arin looks completely fine.

I've seen multiple people bring this up, and honestly this is less a Grumps thing and more of a fandom thing in general these days. More kids than ever are on the internet, and they're all just as insatiable and horny as we were but *in droves*. The Grumps don't brand themselves as a children's show, so I don't think they're entirely to blame for this. It's just a sad inevitability kids roam around on the internet without supervision. And while they do joke about having sex with each other, I think it's just because trying to pushback on it would only make it way worse. It's a no win situation.

Nah, I've been on tumblr. I've enjoyed quite a few Markiplier, TGWTG videos in my time, and I have never seen comment sections (or fandoms tbh) so openly sexual about the hosts, or hosts who say nothing about it (even encouraging it, like with Arin and Polygrumps.) Usually someone speaks up and says "hey, that's kind of awkward and weird, please do not" or at the VERY least the other fans point it out amongst themselves. Even incel anime weebs don't get much encouragement for that kinda shit from their own fandom, outside of their circles.

Was Dan the one behind the controls for Shadow of the Colossus? I just remember that being one of the best playthroughs they ever did, and the few hiccups with map travel and getting lost were scrapped in post fr the most part.

Yeah he was. I only remember because of a clip in a Grumps comp where Arin starts talking about how great Agro was, only for Agro to die and make Dan very distraught. One of the few times Arin was genuinely funny.

A late enough response on my part; but I'd have never guessed Arin warranted a thread seeing as I hopped off the train quite literally the same day Jon was gone. Not out of any malice for either party, but it just didn't feel the same.

I went through the same fact-finding hunt as most other people did in a bid to see if something more tangible was there about why Jon left so abruptly, but settled at "Well if this is better for the both of them, then okay."

Imagine my surprise years later, and yet I can't say it's unwarranted. I'm not even subscribed to them anymore and my feed still cycles through with constant reminders of their newer playthroughs and stuff. The streams, the skits, the adverts; I don't even need to watch them to get an instant feeling for how far things have fallen. Kind of sad really.
