She legitimately tells herself that all of the vile shit she spews is justified because it's somehow in "self defense" even though nine times out of ten no one did anything to her in the first place, as was the case with Amy above. She has gone on tirades saying, "LOOK, LOOK - She's done X, Y, Z! And people think I'm a bad person?! How could they?!" She minimizes all of the foul things she's said - "That was a whole year ago, geez."

She attacks people at the drop of a hat with vitriol, seemingly out of nowhere. She has a hair-trigger and then wonders why she's "so unpopular". The vast majority of the people she attacks are trying to help her, or were at some point. How hard is it to not press enter? That is literally all she needs to do - not press enter. But she can't even summon up that tiny bit of self control. She deserves everything she gets, truly.

Agreed. Trauma also doesn't have to mean something truly horrendous. Her father left when she was young and was an alcoholic. Her mother was a teen mom. Her sister was supposedly special needs and so probably required more attention. She was bullied throughout school. All of these, or any one of these, could be enough to damage a fragile young mind.

Bibi's been there for seven years now. Maybe he tried as hard as he could to help her for years and was abused for it. Maybe he never gave a shit at all. We'll likely never know. They could have had a great relationship at first and just fell into a rut like many couples. I am not fond of the people in the comments who constantly berate Bibi for his lack of support. We truly have no idea what's happened between them for the last near-decade and don't know what goes on off-camera. And she's clearly a vile, manipulative, mentally ill person with a raging addiction, so I am not so quick to blame Bibi for anything.

As for giving up and just eating herself to death, sure that's an option, and the path that she's chosen through inaction so far. Clearly there is some part of her that wants to fight, wants to become healthy, or at least wants to evoke jealously in people. If she doesn't do anything she will die fairly soon in my opinion. Those cysts will rupture, she'll be hospitalized, and she may not gain her footing back after that.

i'm curious as to why everyone who apparently has BED claims that it's not the type of food but the amount of food, yet none of them binge on vegetables. have you tried eating a 1kg of broccoli and drinking 2L of water? i bet even someone like chantal wouldn't be able to finish that in one sitting if in a day. so why not do it? the worst thing you get from that is stomach pain and looking like you're pregnant, but that's miles better than actually gaining weight and destroying your health in the process and eventually being forced to diet and lose it.

i get it, some of them had hard life growing up, but you are adult now and should know better that you can't change the past but you can change the future. why obsess over what happened in the past and let it destroy your life then complain about it? take some responsibility and act. don't blame the past for your current shitty choices.

On top of being on the dumber side, it’s obvious Chantal has a mental illness and / or problem of some sort.

We could speculate for hours on what it could be, some said she had some sort of syndrome, others think she’s a narcissist, or bipolar, or what else... the fact is no one here seems qualified to come up with a proper diagnose and I doubt Chantal will ever talk about it (for all we know she may have been diagnosed with something already, but never followed with proper medication).

Basically we will never know and it’s useless to try to pinpoint what’s wrong with her.

Aaaall those youtube deathfats usually don't distinguish between food addiction and BED, and use them interchangeably. Which is, of course, kind of a problem, because BED is a real psychological disorder with strict diagnostic guidelines and food addiction is a bit of wishy-washy term for "I can't stop shovelling fast food in my maw".
And the reason why they don't eat broccoli is quite clear, isn't it? It doesn't taste as good. Sugar gives you a high, fat makes it taste good, salt makes you want to eat more. If you're not dealing with your psychological problems, what good is it to overeat on veg? You're just gonna gain everything back (as demonstrated by our Lady Waterfast).

Honestly, I hope she either gets therapy that helps her or she skips the appointment and we get a mega-chimp out, because the Depression-soft voice-still binging- saga right now is kinda boring.

I really feel that Bibi has gotten stuck in her massive gravitational field. Her total and complete melt down over him leaving for three weeks was over the fucking top. Imagine how fast she would self destruct if he really left forever. He probably hates and resents her at this point. The man probably has to buy food for himself every day or it gets eaten when his back is turned or at work. He is probably who cleans because Chantal is too fat to move much and is too obsessed with stuffing her face to bathe much less clean. And that was probably why his sister had to baby sit her. I feel like its a sick codependency where Chantal gets the benefits and Bibi just hates her for it. But I could be wrong.

ETA: on the Bibi didn't know about food addiction until he met her. Maybe not, but I bet bitch didn't have to explain it. I bet every day when he came home to an empty fridge that was full a few hours ago he understood perfectly.

It is worth mentioning that Chantal is 13 years older than her sister, so whatever extra attention the sister needed came as Chantal was approaching adulthood. According to her friend, Chantal used to bully and terrorize that sister (iirc, one of Chantal's moves was to change the TV channel away from cartoons and shove her sister out of her seat so that Chantal could settle her fat ass in there) I have a pet theory that any "special needs" the sister had were either caused or exacerbated by Chantal. In videos where the sister appears as an adult, she seems reasonably normal.

Chantal may have had "trauma" as a child or teen, but it was the garden variety kind. An awful lot of kids grew up in single mom households and had dads who drank, and who were bullied at school. That could probably describe a quarter of the population. I'd say her sister faced worse trauma, having to get through infancy and childhood with Brutus the Glutton constantly kicking her off the sofa.
