I won't wax autistically for hundreds of words about where Zoom did and did not sound serious, because the short answer is: the only "joke" he made during the Donga destruction stream I knew was a joke was when he said he had Donga's family's genetic profile results. And that was only because I knew that would be impossible without him admitting to serious legal faux pas as I haven't yet heard about 23andme or the other genetic sequencing services getting owned. Literally all the other things sounded serious based on his delivery including the SSN claim as it wouldn't shock me to learn he found something somewhere which he didn't personally acquire and share.
Which brings me to Zoom's assertions about what was and was not said regarding Tonkas family and threats. When he asserts "we" he's referring to the time when he first broached the topic on the Donga destruction stream and people were talking about the GFM specifically. He was talking about getting permits and the research he did. He proposed that he, Ralph, CRP and the gang go shoot this documentary. He spent quite a bit of time asking Ralph and CRP to add their names to the Gofundme which told me this was, serious or not, definitely shameless self promotion, but iirc he does get CRP's name to the gofundme. At no point does anyone make clear that this is or is not happening as things pick up and the topic is not revisited. So when he's saying "we" he's ONLY referring to this part of the stream, in which no threats are made and no intimation of making threats during the documentary is made by anyone.
That is not the problem.
The problem is later, as in hours later, Zoom spergs into Rackets stream and threatens Donga's family (I am 100% sure I heard him say something that would be construed as a threat).
After that, he makes what sounds like a serious claim to have Donga's SSN (I bring this up for timeline purposes as I mentioned it earlier).
At this point, he's indicated twice now he plans to show up in Donga's trailer park, and in one case indicated plans to do more than just ask questions politely. If one was being somewhat uncharitable to this set of facts, one might get the impression that Ralph, CRP, etc. are also planning to show up for this.
Now, nobody explicitly said that; it is just implied from the following:
- He weaseled some e-celebs onto his GFM.
- He said THEY (he and the e-celebs) should shoot the documentary, strongly implied for THIS weekend (when else is everyone going to be within half a day's drive of Donga?)
- Shortly thereafter, proceeds to threaten Donga's family/Donga and says that he would "show up", again, strongly implied THIS weekend as when the fuck else would he be in the area.
This leads to a period of time where, unless someone was in direct contact and asked any of those involved in the original discussion, someone could come away with the impression that "it sounds like Zoom, who just threatened Donga/Donga's family live on rackets stream, will be heading down to Alabama to shoot a documentary with Ralph, CRP, etc. which may or may not involve video of Zoom threatening Donga/his granny to their face while Ralph attempts to flee so fast he makes the Jetsons noises and Coach isn't quite sure what he's witnessing".
So I can understand why Null asked.
