@Easypeas is right, the troons and the "gay 'til graduation day" attention-whores got their foot in the door, liked the attention they got, and promptly opened the floodgates -- attracting NAMBLA-tier freaks and undoing years of activist work by turning the LGBT community into American Horror Story: Freakshow, AKA a magnet for pedos and other undesirables.
Now, I'm all for encouraging uncontrollably-fetishistic autogynephiles to neuter themselves with surgery & hormones, but when you look up close at who this is really hurting, it's honestly depressing. All us oldfags wanted was for fellow LGBT's to be free to love, to be safe being themselves, to have the rights we were denied. But for all our efforts, we're back to harming actual homosexuals and actual women by putting trannies' desires above their safety. Even worse, we've successfully created a generation of LGBT youth that will grow up more endagered, more damaged, and more sexually confused & exploited than any generation that has come before. We are signing these kids up for a lifetime of mental and physical anguish. We are sterilizing them before they even know the meaning of the word.
And for what you ask? What endangered social species are we ostensibly doing this to protect? Upon which altar have we chosen to sacrifice the safety and well-being of our women and children? For what undoubtedly noble cause are these women and children suffering?
Such a worthy cause, no?
Neo-liberals absolutely set themselves up for this shit, so watching them tear each other apart is kinda hilarious (and probably necessary, tbh), but it sucks that the only people who will really pay for this bullshit are those it puts most at risk - women and children, esp those who are LGB, low-income, or fleeing abuse. Their safety should always trump troon-comfort.
And yet here we fuckin' are. It's 2019 and female employees at female-only spas are getting sued for refusing to wax a male pedophile's balls. Time to pack it in, ladies - we successfully feminism'd!
