I am setting Gwen's grieving mom stuff aside because I can't look past her treatment of Cal ,refusal to medicate the girls for pain and seizures , the sickening hate she spewed about suicide victims and people who self harm ,the way she exploited physical disability and other crap that is horrible . So she is such an asshole , as always ,with this post about Cal winning his game for or because of dead Claire . Even with a dead child Cal ( and his teammates) can't shine without Gwen taking all credit and giving it to the children that had no idea that Cal existed. Hell they didn't even know they existed but this will be Cal's new future. The child only capable of things because of a dead sibling and one that shouldn't exist . He is so screwed for life.
It reminds me of when Terri Schaivo's parents insisted she was smiling in a video clip when she was making the same blank expression in every clip. So it might not even be Gwen interpreting a seizure for a smile like with the "crying" videos but believing her usual expression (more like lack of expression) as Claire grinning all the time.

Even though Kerby did more than hold a tater in a photograph (she was also part of the prep squad for this Halloween's photoshoot, to say nothing of the many other pics she's been in), I agree that we don't know much about her personality. However, she is a small-town Kansas girl and, in general, that means she's not going to be as liberated or progressive as a woman from a larger city. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if she still bought into the whole "the male is the breadwinner, the little woman is the caregiver" mentality.
