He can get a job, the issue is keeping it.

He's toxic and entitled by nature, and has an aversion to effort. In order to keep a job he'll have to put on his Fakesydephil persona for more than 2 hour ̶s̶h̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶ sponsored stream. Is he capable of doing that? His social skills have deteriorated a great deal in the last couple of years due to his life style and controlled environment and I doubt he'll last long in any job that requires human interaction.

Also, if he does manage to keep a job and streams on the side, I think he'll be nastier than usual because he'll take out his work frustrations on his audience. All that pent up toxicity has to go somewhere.

You’re right. I work full time and stream on the side but I can balance it. I use streaming as a way to unwind. He would (like he does now) use it as a means to attack strangers. Streaming stopped being fun to him a very long time ago.

Yeah, can you imagine Phil taking orders from someone 10 years younger than him. LOL he would have meltdown

The guy has beaten RE2, Cuphead, every From Software game 5 times over and every GTA game 5 times over. I'm just saying people want to act like he's the most incompetent gamer in the world, but I just think he's an average gamer who puts himself out there and people give him shit for not playing perfect no-hit runs his first time through. It happens to every streamer honestly, I've seen good gamers miss an item and the whole chat gets flooded with "BLIND!" "YOU'RE SO FUCKING BLIND OMGWTF" "YOU FUCKING DUMBASS ITS RIGHT THERE".
Everybody fucks up in games, but DSP has the privilege of fucking up in front of hundreds/thousands of people who are actively looking for him to fuck up.

phil beats dark souls like what 3 times? go backs on his 4th time without a fucking clue again(he doesnt learn cause hes just a puppet being handheld through). a normal streamer on his first playthrough is more competent than phil. even though they fuck up theyll enjoy the game. but phil on his 1,2,3,4th time of incompetency? bitches about the game and fromsoftware yet again. thats his problem. he doesnt know how to keep his mouth shut when his ego and incompetency is being displayed to the world

Personally I don't disagree with Phil about the spiderman DLCs. Sure I 100% all of them, but the screwball challenges really did suck and the bases in Turf Wars and Silver Lining felt harder due to what I believe to be balancing issues because of the new enemy types. I got just as frustrated as he did on those parts too. It's just that if Phil says it then it can never be considered a true criticism of the game because that's the precedent that he set. So of course if there are others who are frustrated on the same parts he is they won't say anything. After all, who would ever want to be compared to DSP? A lot of gamers I have seen take that as a huge insult. The lowest blow you could make.

You also have to remember that he is pretty useless,he was fired from every job he had or had to quit because he was about to be fired,I assume his problem solving skills that we see in his playtroughs are a reflection of his problem solving skills in the real world,he would make a terrible employe because he would never get anything right and would get stuck at the most simple of tasks (thats why he was fired from the helicopter company after his dad left and was about the be fired from that company that gave loans that people cloudnt pay so he quitted).

Also he has a "I did nothing wrong,I did everything correct" attitude that will create conflict with his co-workers,imagine having phil do a massive fuck up at work only for him to say that its not his fault, that will not bode well with his co-workers or his boss.

We have to remember that if he ever gets a job it will be at a starting position on a non-skilled job that will pay very little, since he has not worked in finance in over a decade. Also even tought he likes to say he has a business degree,he never tells us about his GPA or what collegue he went,so he most likely went to a meme collegue where he got bad grades,so its even more unlikely he will work in a finance related job.

Why bust your ass at a 8 to 5 job where you have difficult tasks, annoying co-workers,a boss, deadlines, etc. when you cloud wake up late everyday and play video games with special people that tell you that you are amazing and throw more money at you than what you cloud make by working a real job? He will never get a job,the streaming life is to easy and it pays too well.

The biggest and last effort I will ever put in DSP.
Aside from the other shit I totally forgot, according to my desktop folder.

hes too proud to take life advice
hell tell you to mind your business or that you have no idea what you are talking about

people keep telling him to sell the house and move in a cheaper place and he refuses. its the most sensible thing to do when you are in debt and cant afford to live somewhere

says he still would have to pay for renovations and moving cost.those are one time spendings
better than waste money every month either way
Just an opinion, but I do think lazyness is a big factor for his "NEY"-saying. Because it's comfy and easy to simply do nothing. Since he moved to this Seattle area his existence was bound to the loveseat, where his movements turned minimum and sunlight into a myth. There his financial problems got magically solved (in short-term) by whales every single time. The today's Dave is a trained couch potato, he suffers from a complete lack of active physical self-preservation. Everything he does these days is tiring to him. He could get out of this swamp if he wouldn't be the egomaniac as we know him. He is like an immovable muppet, a certain soulmate should start to move his fragile wooden extremities if she's actually serious about this relationship. He drives them both to ruin.

I mean, what's more important to this "man"?
Stay lazy and lose everything he worked for? Or actually do something and stop the excuses.

I'm of the belief that DSP isn't that bad at games. The guy just finished RE2 on Hardcore mode, how many of you all can do that? I can see the replies now, "Oh but he just brute forced his way through it! He just ran by everything! He got streamchat help!" That doesn't negate the fact that most people couldn't do it. DSP just is an asshole and people like to discredit assholes.

I don't mean to sermonise here because on some level I get what you're saying. One of the unique aspects of the old TIHYDPs was the fact that Phil was often playing older titles for the first time. Titles that were often regarded as classics and the fanbases attached would know how to play them inside and out. After years of this mentality people can allow themselves to forget the first time they played these titles themselves, substituting some of the memories of their own failures and replacing them only with the solutions and how ridiculous it might appear that anyone else might struggle to get ahead.

The big boy pants/git gud mentality attached to videogames has always been pretty laughable to me because nobody is born with videogame precognition. We play games so that we can engage in the challenge of learning the rules of the game so we can find the solutions and beat them. We play for the satisfaction of overcoming the challenge but we know by now that DSP does not play videogames for this reason.. he begrudgingly plays them to make money. As a conman it's his most obvious tell, that he can't help but be transparent about the fact he doesn't want to be there but is forcing himself to be.

I'm sure a high volume of detractors give him shit because they genuinely believe he's terrible at them.. but I personally give him shit because he's pig ignorant and lazy to the point that he won't even engage in trying to understand the established rules that are more often than not explicitly laid out before him - sometimes in plain english text on screen explaining exactly what he has to do to advance. I also think he got shit when he was more popular because of the way he would sleight and misrepresent new games and their developers.. broken, bugged, bullshiiit game design dood or what have you when often it was nothing more than the typical DSP strategy of trying to force the same solution that didn't work on attempt 3 to work on attempt 12. These days this point doesn't really apply because no one is coming to him for those hot new day one unboxing + khantent videos but I can still see why it got under people's skin.

Take away a chat telling him what to do and this is how "not so bad at videogames" DSP is. By the end of this game you basically have to tell it that you grasp the concept of Blade Mode and its various permutations. You can't finish until you've proven you can manipulate the analogue sticks in the proper sequence and direction in the boss fights. DSP never really learned how to actually use Blade Mode and if you skim through it you get a perfect example of how he simply refuses to learn and will blame anything and anyone but himself. Of course this extends to pretty much every facet of his life (where people also make plenty of mistakes.. it's natural) but it does seem quite perfectly expressed at times in videogame form with him.
