as a canadian i can confirm that not only are there a lot of furcons here, but even at fucking anime or comic cons, you're going to see some furries, probably cuz they have nothing else to do with their sad lives. i don't know what any of that has to do with anime or comics, and i don't know why they're there in the first place, but they're probably grasping for straws because they're running out of cons to go to.

I used to attend a local sci-fi con before it got stale and the conrunners changed and the new one drove the con into the ground. There was a furry who would always show up. Just the one. He'd hand out cowtails candy (kind of like a long tootsie roll made of caramel and a sugar center, the size of a SlimJim). I dunno if those were a weird metaphor for him or what, but anyway, he was the only furry that would ever show up. If you spoke to him, he'd mime a reply. Most people didn't talk to him, though, and he'd just randomly wander around the con.
