Emorional support animals are not service dogs. These terms are not interchangable in the least. Is there any clear say whether this animal was an ESA (no legal protection except under FHA and ACAA) or an actual service dog (protected by federal law under the ADA, as mentioned earlier its a felony in Cupid's state to injure or maim a service dog and he could be liable to pay for a new trained dog + any medical expenses accrued while the dog was out of service)? Whether it was an ESA or a SD is a massive difference.

Edit: The article refers to the dog as a medical alert dog who senses blood pressure change. If Noodle (was that her handle? Idr) is disabled and it's actually an alert dog, then hopefully Cupid will be charged with harming a service dog. Why the article title calls it a therapy dog I have no idea.

DFE'ing does not equal "going to jail." There are plenty of people who have gone to jail whose social media accounts are still up.

That doesn't mean anything unless there is an actual case for Joshua happening with his local authorities, which is likely still ongoing and no charges to be made yet. This takes time, instead of being a spaz because he's quitting twitter, why not wait until there are some actual charges to see?

How hard is it to follow someone who changed their name in the US?

I really don't know. Some places in the EU there's a cast iron trail to prevent fraud, but others you can go dark quite easily.

Legal name changes require a notification in the local paper in the US.

But no, he's probably not going to change his real life name just to rejoin the furry fandom. All he needs to do is make a new character, lay low for a year, and he'll get along just fine.
