He is desperate to become a woman. The piercing has a mystical significance--it is, in his words, a "first step" in his transformation. I see a lot of parallels with the beginning of his Love Quest. PROBLEM: No sweetheart and no money. To me that wasn't the crazy part (believe it or not), for me it was the "bathing daily" with a new piercing and the "I fiddle with it while I touch myself and pretend I can scissor". 1) we know Chris wasn't bathing daily, and even if he was, bathing daily would have definitely made it worse for a number of reasonings (dry it out, let bacteria from all over his body in and let it stew, stretching the area when he sits that low, etc) and 2) that thing HAD to have hurt, so he was bare ass sitting around on it AND fiddling with it? Piercing my belly button hurt so much a day or two after I got it that even clothes tugging it a little made me cry out a little and I DEFINITELY wasn't playing with it any time soon after.

I don't think that any good piercer would be willing to re-pierce a site that clearly has an infection going on. At this point I'm just glad he got rid of the safety-pin DIY piercing that he attempted to do before. Also, I don't have statistics to back this up, but I suspect these taint piercings are much more common on males than females (the only person I personally know who has one is a guy). If he wants a piercing that is currently more common for females than males, he should consider a nostril stud or a navel piercing.

At the risk of sounding grim and Darwinian, why should anyone intervene here? Somebody already did that and Chris is getting his taint repierced anyway. I don't think there's any going back on this in Chris's mind. He's already tried to do the job himself with a safety pin.
