What are the laws in California about children sleeping in the same room as an unrelated adult? Its illegal here in Washington. And in Wisconsin I know different gendered siblings cant share a room after a certain age. I'm sure it's already been looked at since DCFS is so involved already.... right?

I get a lot of mixed reviews on whether or not my dad cared for me as a baby. His family says it was all him and my moms family says it wasnt. So I don't know there but he did do most of the caring for me from 2 to 4 between marriages. But he wasnt alone he lived with my grandma so he might not have done everything himself. So hes more or less clueless in normal parenting and hes definitely got 0 experience with any special needs. They speculate that I may have been considered on the autism spectrum but since I'm an adult now I've not ever got an official diagnosis for it.

There's a very real correlation between brain problems and early childhood environments. In short: If your early childhood included one or both negligent parent(s), divorce, stress, etc. it's very likely your brain develops some kind of coping mechanism that can later be diagnosed as autism or ADHD or whatever. So that's probably true for most people, but it's not something I would personally worry about unless it affected my life to a large degree.

Edit: It's totes illegal here, too, btw. Every child needs to have their separate bedroom after a certain age, and it's not at all uncommon for parents to sleep on the couch while their children have a bedroom each.

Jani is envious of all the attention Bodhi has been getting. Cory only pays attention to Bodhi and ignores Jani. If Jani goes to Texas Susan and all the doctors will be focused on Bodhi, Jani is an after thought. If she stays behind with Cory she thinks he will finally pay attention to her because Susan and Bodhi are gone. (He won’t, he will expect her to stay in her room and not bother him.)

It’s a bit shocking that Phil didn’t offer the same services to Jani since it was acknowledged Susan is batshit and abusing Bodhi with meds. Obviously she’s done the exact same thing to Jani, in fact Jani was the first, She just tried to repeat the formula with Bodhi. But Jani was on Dr Phil years ago and he went along with all of the schizophrenia bullshit.

I think this is why Jani has been left out to dry. Anyone with a brain can see she’s severely over medicated too. She’s on all the same drugs Bodhi is, plus more, and has been so since she was younger than Bodhi. How that could be totally ignored and nothing offered to help her is very sad - and Jani feels the sting.

Jani told Mike that she thinks the meds are causing her to wet the bed. She’s watching everyone worry about Bodhi and all the meds he’s been taking. Meanwhile Susan is having her take fistfuls on antipsychotic daily. She must wonder why everyone is upset about Bodhi taking these meds, but not her.

Jani has tried very hard to be Susan’s good little pawn and do as she’s told on camera. Bodhi hasn’t tried to please Susan at all and he ended up with a TV show and trip to Texas! Jani was raised to think being on TV was what made her important, it got her lots of attention and it made her mom happy. Now it feels like Bodhi is the star and everyone is cares more about him even when she tried so hard to please Susan.

I’m sure Jani finds it all very confusing. She’s probably getting yelled at by irritated Screech and Cody because she’s desperate for their attention, but they are only worried about the media clusterfuck and Bodhi. Janis probably been told to be quiet and go play in her room fifty times this week.

Both kids are starved for love and affection so watching it all be doled out on Bodhi would be hard for Jani

This is the one thing that has kind of been annoying me on this thread. Even here for the last 30 pages it's kind of just been poor Brodi, Brodi, Brodi. Don't get me wrong, the little guy seems to be in more danger at this moment than Jani and that's why there's more fear for his safety. However, I still feel as though that even we're kind of ignoring her and kind of excusing it with her being a lost cause. Even if her brain is a pile of mush at this point due to the drugs, she still deserves to be worried about and taken the fuck out of this environment.

I said this like two days ago but as fast as this thread's been moving it may as well have been two years ago, but abusers never think they're being abusive. It's always, "No one understands how bad our kid is/no one understands how bad WE'VE got it/we're just doing what anyone would do in this circumstance." and here it is on display in spades. Of course they're not going to follow any instructions or respect Mike as a parent and of course they're going to immediately drug Bohdi with Thorazine the second they think they're gonna miss Grey's Anatomy. Anyone would! Which is why they cc the authorities with thier plans. They legitimately believe this is normal behavior for parents and everyone is going to understand.

They need to take those kids away like yesterday. Even if they do get taken away, they won't believe they ever failed. They could literally be sitting in a jail cell and they would be telling other prisoners that they're hard done by.

It's also kind of terrifying tbh. Jani should absolutely not decide it's time to start acting out when she's alone for days with the rage monster. Speaking of, can you imagine what it's been like over there since Bohdi started refusing to be asleep for 12 hours at a time? Cory sounded like he was at his wits end in that email. No chance they haven't been yelling at each other frequently the past two days and terrifying the children.

Bodhi almost literally died, his white blood cell count went suddenly bonkers due to the meds. Which was the reason for the med wash if I understand correctly? So while people are worried about Jani still, her brother has literally been fighting for his life and in crisis. She's not being written off she's just not a crisis in quite the same immediate ways.

They won't understand until the kids are gone. They have no idea that a withdrawing patient doesn't sleep. And that no 11 year old goes to sleep at 5 p.m.

The kids are both in mortal danger from now until DCFS removes them to group homes. Theres no way around it.

I assure you that is was mostly your grandma who did the heavy lifting caring for you from 2-4 but she sounds like the type who would lie and give Cory credit for it. The average, normal loving dad can struggle with caring for a baby from birth to three. From what we’ve seen, and you told us, about Cory there’s no way he was some dad sacrificing to care for his daughter. Your grandma did it, but her tendency to protect and cover for him means she gives him credit he doesn’t deserve.

Your mom cared for you first, then Grandma, then Stacy. Cory simply gave you to women for them to care for you. When Stacy was gone Cory showed his real parental concern and abilities.

Cory is so upset he has to deal with Bodhi being awake after 6 pm. No way I believe he managed to be the primary caretaker for a two year old in diapers
