Another funny thing i found while i searched this was Arin's subreddit comment about the leadfoot doxing incident.

It's completely insincere btw. He didnt care until Danny called, didnt callout his fanbase and pretended it was all jokes! Arin called the guy an useless failure over and over and Dan name dropped him multiple times while laughing and saying "Boy if he gets a wave of hate from our fans, wont he be surprised 11 years later?", effectively baiting their fanbase to dox him.

Yeah, but don't tell the fans that, or else you'll get bombarded with tons of people telling you "He's only human, everyone has flaws, people makes MISTAKES!!! Stop HARASSING our precious owo cinnamon roll you no-life little shit". No matter how polite you are about it, nor no matter how much has happened since then. Granted, there's other that just bring it up for no reason whatsoever like it's some new revelation, which is equally dumb, but nowhere near the level that some will go to defend him.

Or they'll come at you with, and these are some of my favorites: "ALL of his info was PUBLIC tho, he didn't get doxed, so stop lying to fit your 'narrative' over someone more popular than you!!!", to which they proceed to ask right afterwards "I'd like to see you try to be a better person!". Just to random Reddit/YouTube commenters that are just the slightest bit curious about what happened.

(And with many more grammatical errors so you have to really gotta strain yourself to wonder what the hell they're talking about.)

Yet for some reason?

They go completely silent when you bring up only his e-mail was ever public, and especially when you show them that image.

Hm.

Really makes you

I think the worse part is when they claim the doxxing wasn't that bad. Would love to see how they'd feel if they actually had to experience the same thing that poor FAQ guy had gone through - just to see them try and spin it in such a way to say how it's so much worse, in their case.

wow that's the first time ive ever watched the normal version of that episode.
God they really were basically asking to punish this guy for basically no reason.

Those crystal levels are rng right?

Kind of there are a selection of spots throughout the map they could spawn. It's random which of the spots are chosen

Edit: Apparently according to others I'm wrong. I might be thinking of a different Sonic game or another game with similar types of levels.

That was the first episode that made me realize Dan can be a huge cunt much like Arin. He was the one who doxxed the guy and low key implied it would be fun if their fans attacked him.

Yes, the emeralds are completely randomized but when you hear the beep it means there is one closer and you should break everything. Arin NEVER understood that and kept shitting on not just the guy, but on his relationships too. This is the same person who bragged on wind waker lp about "he is not like other gamers and can learn anything just by playing the game".

One other thing i forgot to say is that, after this "incident" both Arin and Dan would never reply on the subreddit again unless they're doing an AMA. That's why i believe that, deep inside, Arin blamed the fans and decided to never aproach them again unless it's to say "i love you guys so please buy my overpriced merch now".

They are, but it's worth pointing out that if you touch a glowing red hint ball it will say THIS WAY and go to the emerald. The biggest mistake to make is to not keep moving in the direction of the radar, which really isn't communicated well by the game, but it does also literally point you in the direction you should be going. The hint balls are littered through the stages (and the game's overworld), you only need the awareness of a 7 year old to succeed at Sonic Adventure. Arin is a dumb, contrarian shit who has no business playing vidya james for any audience.

Got to the point I only kept watching cause Danny was such a likeable guy but during their playthrough of Paper Mario: TYD Danny mentioned a fan sent him a guide on how badges worked and Arin threw a fit and shat on the fan for his help. What an ungrateful little shit he is.

And, even then, it's only Dan running the AMA's (sometimes, Brian joins in). Arin - however - never shows his face.

Didn't he say something along the lines of how the fan's advice took away from Dan having a unique gaming experience, or some crap? Never mind that 1) Dan had asked for help and 2) they always use walkthroughs when playing most games - which also robs a person of a 'unique gaming experience'.

The hypocrisy/contradictions never cease to amaze me.

Do you remember what episode it was also why a guide for badges when they list what each one does on the badge itself

This is the one

Someone got Dan a list of recommended badges and explained how they would help him out. I like that someone in the comment section is supportive of Arin being as unlikable asshole because the show is called game grumps.

Dan sounds really thankful for that list so im glad he still is a semi likable person on the show
Been meaning to watch this lp, is there a this is how you don't for this or something like that?

Ah, #Badgegate. I remember that time in the fandom.

Mostly because the damn thing went on for three days straight. Dude who gave Dan the advice was a good sport about it though.

u/going_greener (that was the dude btw who gave him the list during an AMA) actually made himself a new flair after that: Savior of Paper Mario, Salter of Arins. Which I think he might still have actually.

Almost all of the comments I saw on the video were rushing to Arin's defense, calling everyone who thought he was a dick a whining child. Strangely, the biggest argument to defend him is that he's supposed to be the "grump", which is a childish understanding of the way that human interaction works.

Wow, it's almost like you could call Mike Stoklasa a grump and Jay Bauman a not so grump, and they're both still likeable personalities. The absolute state of modern GG fans. Wasn't it an old joke in the beginning of GG that they weren't living up to their name because they were enjoying games too much? How times have changed.

What’s gets me is that this explanation only works if they were playing characters. They aren’t. They are very much just talking about themselves

EDIT: my mobile browser fucked up

Speaking of, I saw this and I knew I had to come back to the thread:
