Doctors didn't think Jani was autistic because Jani is a girl. If Jani was a boy, or if she was born today, there would have been no question. Autism wasn't as well understood at the time, even though it was a relatively short time ago.
Autistic people aren't always introverted. Jani's an extrovert but she has all the social issues that come with autism, and she's shown signs of sensory processing disorder (which is part of autism) since she was a baby. That's a pretty common way for autism to present, especially in girls.

Jani was in Los Angeles which was one of the epicenters for autism because so many kids started getting diagnosed with it in CA by the early and mid-1990s and UCLA in particular was a leading institution for autism research and treatment. It’s not like Susan was some mom in rural Kansas taking Jani to an old pediatrician. She was taking Jani to one of the leading child psychiatric facilities in the country.

By 1987 autism was already in the DSM, but had been a formal diagnosis going back to the 1950s. One of the biggest hit movies in 1988 was Rain Man, a movie about an adult autistic man which won best picture. In 1991 the Dept of Education started special programs to serve autistic kids across the USA. There were countless panicked media stories about sky rocketing autism rates in the late 1990s in mainstream news publications.

Autism was on every doctors radar by 2000, and standard assessments for it were mandatory for every child by pediatrians by the time Jani was a kid.

Susan was taking Jani around to every doctor she could claiming she was crazy, psychotic and uncontrollable and you think not one of those doctors considered autism might be the reason for the issues reported by Susan because Jani was a girl? She wasn’t even taking Jani to just typical pediatricians but to multiple child psychiatrists at UCLA facilities who were the experts of autism spectrum disorders. These doctors understood very well that girls could be autistic, just that it was more common among boys.

I can tell you most average people were aware of autism in early 00s when Jani was a baby and toddler. Self-diagnosed Aspergers Syndrome was a staple of attention seeking teenagers online in the early 00s because awareness of it had reached levels that high. It’s not possible that none of the many child psychiatrists that saw Jani as a small child discounted the Dx it because she was female.

Now we know Susan wanted an schizophrenia diagnosis and would stop at nothing to get it. I’d be curious if any doctors suggested an autism Dx and Susan didn’t accept and kept doctor shopping. I’m sure one of leakers who knows Mike could ask about autism assments Jani received before some young resident finally gave Susan the diagnosis she wanted. (Once the Psych drugs started full blast by age six it altered her brain so terribly I don’t think anything can be accurately assessed by her behaviors. Never mind all the shit Susan was giving her “to make her sleep” starting when she was months old)

I was looking through youtube and found another wedding video, i dont know why there are multiple versions. Anyway, pause frame at 4:40, why would anyone want to wake up to that evil face day after day is beyond me. Screechs mom stands up at 12:15 and was caught just shaking her head, instead of sitting down and letting them do whatever they wanted like usual, she just stands there. Her mom has always given me the creeps, the mental illness runs deep in her side of the family tree.

Interesting- Even as early as the Wedding video, Cory is the one very carefully, whilst having that ghastly smile plastered across his face, bossing Jani around.

First, before he walks down the isle, then shooing her away at the very end of the ceremony. It must have been so confusing for them to go from just Susan to adding that prick into the mix as well.

“Feet under the table”, springs to mind! He got comfortable very quickly! I dread to think what he’s actually like with her off camera.

Oh, isn't it sooo cuuuuute!!! My 14 year old just gets up and does whatever she feels like whenever she wants!!! She thinks She's getting married! Hallucinations! Our completely out of control lifestyle is so Quirky and Entertaining!! See what I deal with? It's so harrrrrd!

Why doesn't anybody ever tell those kids to sit down when it is totally inappropriate for them to be stumbling all over the place?? It is so obnoxious how Susan smiles that particularly smug smile when her kids misbehave in ways that are easily managed with simple redirections. The bridesmaid could have sent the kids back to the handler who was seated next to them. The handler could have yanked them back into their seats when they stood up. The whole thing could have been prevented by spending some time every day for a couple weeks explaining how to behave at a wedding.

But, it's crucial for the kids to be a completely distracting sideshow when Susan has the spotlight. If they behaved appropriately, how would everyone know how CHALLENGING EVERY DAY is for poor, poor Susan. Her kids are SO CRAZY that they are ALWAYS hallucinating and they can't be still for 10 minutes. Susan works so hard to help those poor, poor kids!

Initially, I was feeling Lorraine in this video. She gets up, disapproving, and I thought (for a second) that somebody in this shitshow would finally display a pinch of common sense. But then she just stands there for the rest of the wedding.. WTF??
I love how the camera guy has to shuffle around to cut her out of the frame. Imagine being hired to film this. Spending hours documenting a circus of lunatics huddled together to celebrate their queen. The camera guy has stories. :lit::lit:*sigh*

Susan at the start of the show and Susan after the show airs!

Fucking witch!

I was at wedding like this before. There were like 12 Kids of about four years old and none of the parents tried to discipline them. It's normal for certain groups of parents to just do nothing to make their kids decent human beings and it's also normal to not discipline kids that are not yours, since the mother is holy and knows everything better than anyone else.
They even shushed the preacher, when he complained.

Many of those kids are total brats and I have to deal with them in school...
But nevertheless, it's extremely hard to discipline kids that have never been parented before and if Jani had been autistic then she'd had required even more consistent parenting than any other kid would have. By the age of 4 you nearly have lost if you didn't ever discipline your autistic child. Instead of drugging the kids to a coma a parenting aid (does that exist in the US?*) would be the choice then.

*we have parenting aides here in germany who help parents, overstrained with raising their kid right, learn actual parenting. You can call them or you get them sent to you when somebody informed CPS.

We have NOTHING like that here. It sounds incredible. In the US, people who work with kids have to tiptoe around the topic of how people raise their children. We aren't supposed to question their discipline methods and we are supposed to be respectful of people who choose to raise their children with no boundaries because they believe a child should be able to make choices like an adult does. The US has completely given up societal standards of how children should be guided towards functional adulthood.

DCFS can mandate some classes that are designed for people with substandard IQs. So any tard can pass and then get their kids back and keep on keeping on. There are virtually no consequences for allowing your children to be feral or entitled brats. It is socially acceptable to be completely offended if someone suggests that your child needs to be corrected in any way.

It's a jungle out here.

I am relishing the idea that Susan, like so many reality tv idiots, was all excited to be on the show until she actually got home and thought about how it was going to make her look. She really thought it was going to make her look good and be an asspat session.

And now with the promo, she’s going to panic more and more over the next two weeks. If the kids weren’t in harm’s way, I’d be loving this.

Wait until it airs, Susan. The flood of mums and old people coming to your fb, youtube and wherever else they can find you to tell you how fucked up a monster you are is going to be HILARIOUS. I wouldn’t be surprised if Susan senses it just before air date and tries some pointless nonsense to get them to cancel the episode.

On the flipside, we also don't have a former Stasi (East German secret police) informant running the government department that monitors social media for wrongthink. Individual liberty cuts both ways.

MBP falls in and out of style with the media every few years. It's hitting big again because the boyfriend in the Gypsy Rose case just had his trail in november, and is about to be sentenced this month, and Gypsy Rose's case makes for great outrage TV, and unlike many MBP cases, theres no grey areas as far as if it happened or not because the mom is dead not the victum for once.

The other one that was fairly obvious I can't recall the name of, but it fell apart because the girl supposedly had cancer, but (thankfully) unlike other MBP psychos, the mother was lazy as shit about it. She was just using it as a fraud scam, and just shaved the girl's head, shoved sleeping pills down her throat, and put bandages over where a chemo port would be, and it fell apart when the ramschackle ruse fell apart under basic scrutiny.

I believe you're talking about this case. The documentary is still on Youtube :) Def an interesting one to watch as well so here it is for anyone who hasn't seen it!

Not to mention fucking up her sleep cycles with benadryl - and later melatonin too. If you take melatonin every night for a long time, it will fuck with your body's ability to produce it naturally, making getting a good night's sleep even harder. Same with benadryl, use it too often and soon you can't sleep without it. It's easy for adults to become dependent on it, lord knows how badly it affects an infant's sleep cycle.

ETA: anyone see Susan fucking laying in bed on that clip from Dr Phil??? LMFAO. Just in bed, in the living room, middle of the day.
I'm calling her pharma-hag from now on.

Guys, look how pink Bodhi looks in this shot.. compare his skin to that of Susan’s in the background.

Yes, I understand lighting and camera angle would affect it but he looks like a lobster. He looks painfully sunburnt, raw even.

One of the I'd assume most known side effects from thorazine is that it makes you extremely sensitive to sunlight. Of course Susan didn't give a fuck about that or thought about putting sun screen on him and maybe having him wear a hat.

He shouldn’t have been taking Thorazine- this was prior to taping in the studio and after being removed from medication. His skin looks a lot like Jani’s did prior to the report of the “hot shower” incident.

These may be better shots of his skin-

Jani has never been diagnosed with autism, something that continues to confound Michael, given what appear to be developmental delays in Jani. She was evaluated as recently as 2017 for autism and just missed the cutoff. Michael desperately wants someone to be able to answer the question of whether Jani's apparent developmental delays are due to the medication she is on. He had hoped Dr. Phil would also get Jani a full evaluation. He taped a segment on Jani, wondering if she really had schizophrenia and about the impact of her meds but it appears they didn't air it. Dr. Phil was so focused on the YouTube videos that the show didn't get to Jani or Susan's mental health, which Michael also brought up.

Since the focus has been primarily Bodhi for so long, I thought I'd take a trip down memory lane and re-visit a little exerpt from Michael's book about Jani.

There's two I'd like to focus on, I will cite the chapter and page, and summarize, with a few choice quotes.

Chapter 17
April 5, 2008 pages 127-133

Michael is at work, teaching, and it sounds like just after his first class of the day, Susan calls him.
She starts the call off with "I'm taking Jani to UCLA"
Summary - she flipped shit at the bagel place and the employees there had to help me wrestle a thorazine into her. I've already given her two PRN thorazine and she's finally asleep. (Bodhi is a baby)

Michael gets to the ER to find a naked Jani, running the halls. Susan says "I am done!" And says Jani spilled water all over herself, and hates wet clothes so she took them off.
"I guess she HAS to run through the halls and mess up their computers before they take THIS seriously"

In this chapter we see that Susan has drugged tf out of Jani and despite her being unconcious, still demands to take her to the ER, all because Michael would be going back to work the next day.
Also again, the language Susan uses, she uses later with Bodhi, too, saying in essence 'this is what we HAVE to do to get in here' implying she provokes behaviors to get the kids admitted. This is clear as day in the video of Jani trying to 'cut her hand off' with a limp wrist and a dull piece of metal.

Chapter 18
April 6, 2008 pages discussed 134-137

Jani is in Loma Linda children's psychiatric hospital. Michael, Susan and baby Bodhi go for a visit - 100 mile drive. *note this hospital is they DID NOT allow outside food or drink be brought in to Jani.
In the book, Michael and susan both complained about this to the hospital to no avail.
Upon arriving, Jani greets Bodhi happily, and calmly. Staff reports Jani was doing great, has to go to the time our room sometimes and describes her as strong willed.
"Is she getting thorazine?" Susan asks
The staff tells Susan they don't use that drug there, and they've been using seroquel as a PRN. The nurse reminds susan they have one hour to visit (hinting not to waste it arguing about medication to her as she was not the doctor)
Susan gives me a look of conern, "I don't like that she isn't getting any Thorazine."
...
"What are you eating here?" Susan asks her (Jani)
Susan looks at me, irritated. "I told them she wouldn't eat"

Susan continues to argue with Michael in front of Jani.
Then suddenly Jani is talking about rats. Then she gets pissed later and hits Susan.
Nurse at Loma Linda: "She (jani) needs to learn there are consequences to her actions."
"She needs more medication. She needs Thorazine!" Susan cries.

The previous chapter, Susan took an unconcious Jani to the UCLA ER. They agreed to admit her, but not there. They suggested BHC Alhambra, but susan complained they'd already been there. Loma Linda was offered, they agreed.
The first thing to note, that i did note, is that no outside food or drink was allowed. Michael and susan seemed deeply upset about this, enough for Mike to mention it in his book. They expressed concern that Jani would "starve" ... odd because they used that as a method of punishment before, why would making her eat the food at this hospital be a concern at all?
Drink a little benadryl juice, for mommy, ok sweetie? Wash down your thorazine burger with it.
The second thing to note is that despite Jani walking into the room to greet her parents and brother happily and with no hint of aggression, susan starts badgering the nurse as to why Jani isn't getting any thorazine.
After not getting her way, Susan asks Jani about her eating. This gets Susan and Michael into an argument, and Jani responds by bringing up her "rats" and getting aggressive. Hmmmmm. Just not enough thorazine I guess!
