This tweet is classic Phil. He obviously doesn't want to play the game because he doesn't like that type of game. But he can't say that because he's too scared to put his foot down for personal reasons. Instead, he shits on the game without having played it, while implying that he is actually still considering it. In addition to that, there is a free demo that he could try, but is refusing to for the reason that he doesn't think he'll like it. But he can't just commit to that and drop it. Every time it is a game he does not want to play, we have to get this dance where he positions himself as an anti-hype contrarian, and he is the only person who has seen through the bullshit and knows the game is bad. He has to be right and validated in his decision not to play it, even when there is no obvious reason to have not at least tried it.
But the part that gets me is that he'll then shit on people for judging games before they release, listening to reviews, and not having the "self-control" to wait until someone like him plays the game and gives you their honest opinion. So whose woke opinions is Phil listening to? And if he listens to people, why don't I just listen to them and cut out the middle man? Tweets like this, by Phil's own logic, show that he is completely irrelevant. Or in pig-speak, 'not pertinent'.
And the grand finale is that we have another obnoxious, only vaguely appropriate reaction gif. He almost has a script for these situations now so let me finish it. If Anthem gains traction and is well received (particularly on streams), Phil will say everyone are sheep and then reluctantly pick it up once his mods can help him, or he'll double down on that for the rest of time. If Anthem is a flop or anything from a moderate success down, Phil will claim that he was woke from the start, that he was right to never touch it, and fuck everyone who even suggested he play it. I think I just saved myself listening to a couple of prestream rants.
