Sorry for the double post, but...

It gets even better!

Marzgurl noted on the 17th, when asked how we can be sure Funimation did a non-bias investigation, that she read something from somebody involved in the internal investigation the company allegedly did. The investigation with the result all these idiots are taking at face value and we have no right to question.

That somebody? Why, it's Samatha. The same person that did the fake SWATing.

Here's an archive of the FB post she links in that Twitter exchange (the FB itself has been purged, but pretty well archived): http://archive.li/VgCf0

Naturally, MarzGurl ain't happy now:

Well, it looks like it's probably going to court, at any rate. At which point, you'll likely be reading Lolcow & Lolcow LLP.

Seriously,how did this come from:
-An event to celebrate the release of a Dragon Ball movie in December, where the voice-actors were all happily hanging out, taking pictures together and tweeting each other in a friendly way. To:
- A tweet in January taking the opportunity of said movie's huge success to remind everyone(of which everyone who hangs out in anime forums have known for many years already.) that a voice-actor is a douche to con staffs and is a bit overly touchy-feely with younger fans(including teenage girls)with many saying they were okay with it,and others don't. To:
-Many voice-actors suddely turning against said co-worker,confirming they knew the stories for years, with some of them even revealing they were harassed by him. Never mind the fact that they were still friendly with him just two months ago and have even stood up for him in the past from said accusations. To:
- Fake swating and bomb threats to make the other side look bad.

Seriously, how could things escalate to such point?

Funimation voice actress and Saiko Studios head, Samantha Inoue-Harte, was discovered to have been involved in a SWATting hoax. According to some internet sleuths, they managed to uncover the plot to smear supporters of anime voice actor, Vic Mignogna, who has been tarred with allegations of misconduct.

Originally, on February 16th, 2019, voice actress Samantha Inoue-Harte posted a now deleted message on Facebook stating…

“[R]eactivated Facebook. Ugh. Vic’s fans were just extra terrible yesterday. Got tired of their constant victim blaming and their hate.

“I just can’t deal with it when people suggest threats of violence towards me. Repeatedly. Especially while I’m still recovering from being sick.”

On February 18th, 2019, Harte posted now deleted messages on Facebook claiming that she had been SWATted, and blamed Vic Mignogna’s fans for the incident.

On Facebook she wrote…

“Dafuq. House got swatted.

“Thanks Vic. Your fans are victim blaming Assholes.

“Spend most of the morning fixing my door frame and replacing the door.

“Police apologized and helped replace the door.

“I’m fine. Just pissed. It was at my rental house, not the one I live in daily.”

Fellow Funimation voice actor, Sean Schemmel, who is known for voicing Goku in Dragon Ball Z, also chimed in with his support via Twitter.

However, it turned out that it was all fake.

On the evening of February 18th, 2019, Twitter user ChambersofHeart posted up screenshots of the evidence, showcasing that the SWATting incident actually occurred back on August 19th, 2016.

In the screenshots it shows that the images that Harte had used in her post claiming that she had been SWATted, actually came from the screenshots she used in the August 19th, 2016 post claiming that she had been SWATted.

ChambersofHeart also posted the message from the now private Facebook page where Harte had explained what happened on the morning of August 19th, 2016, where she wrote…

“So this happened early this morning. Williamson county police battering rammed my front door before dawn.

“I wasn’t there. But they knocked loudly on the door close to 3am and when the family woke up and went to answer the door, the police proceeded to ram the door open even though the family and kids kept saying that they would open the door for them.

“When the police came in, they aimed their guns at the family and searched the house.

“Police informed me that they had received a call saying that there was a burglary in progress in my house.

“So rather than knock on the door and let the family living there answer the door like civilized people, police rammed the door in. The family allowed the police to come in and brewed them coffee. But when the police were asked if they would pay for the damages the response was that they had “reasonable doubt” that there was a burglary going on.

“So yeah….getting a new door installed tomorrow morning at 8:30am…have to replace the door jam and the door.

“If I find out who made that call I am going to go Medieval on their behinds. Nearly $420 for a new door….and paying for door jam and contractor is making it close to $800 that I didn’t plan on shelling out because of someone making a false call.

“Police came by at 8:30am to drink more coffee and to apologize….but apologizing doesn’t replace a broken door.”

YouTuber Memology 101 also did a video with the images of the Facebook posts and of the door from 2016 to basically piece it all together within the span of a two minute video.

About an hour after the tweets went live pointing out that the SWATting was a hoax fabricated by Harte, the voice actress proceeded to delete/private her Facebook posts and privatize the account.

If you attempt to click on the links to the posts, they aren’t available as of the writing of this article. The post from 2016 is private and the post from 2019 is private.

While that in itself was a doozy, the real news was that Samantha Inoue-Harte was also supposedly involved with helping Funimation with the investigation into Vic Mignogna, which ultimatley led to his firing.

This was originally revealed in a tweet posted up on Kaylyn Saucedo, also known as “MarzGurl”, an internet anime personality. The tweet was posted on February 18th, 2019.

However, Saucedo conceded in a follow-up tweet later in the day when it was revealed it was all a hoax that she was disappointed to find out that the story about the SWATting from Vic Mignogna fans made by Harte was fake.

Of course, the revelation that Samantha Inoue-Harte had fabricated a story in order to make Vic Mignogna and his fans look bad called into question the veracity of her claims that were used in Funimation’s internal investigation that led to them firing Mignogna.

This also led supporters to instantly call into question whether or not Harte’s involvement with the investigation was purposefully done to sabotage Mignogna’s career.

I did reach out to Funimation to ask if they would be conducting a second investigation now that the information has come to light that Harte fabricated the story about the SWATting taking place at the hands of Mignogna supporters. At the time of publishing the article they have not responded. However, if they decide to respond the article will be updated with their response.

"He has to be guilty of something" is precisely the mentality I find repugnant in this mess. The autistic drama storm around it is a bonus.
Not really, it depends on what the "something" actually is. Is it something illegal? Morally repugnant? Misunderstood dumbassery? We may never know.

The dumb bandwagoning on both sides is autistic as fuck, but you don't get a 15-year-old cloud of rumors over your head for absolutely nothing, and while it's very conceivable that somebody woke up and decided to accuse a rando of some shit for attention, it's certainly not common for it to gain and gain over the years like that.

To me, this feels closer to the Kevin Spacey debacle, which got his career ganked in a very, very similar way. (I respect that YMMV on each case)..

Yeah... ummm... I wanna believe that. I really do.
I just don't buy this argument at all. Despite what both sides of the exceptional argument think, the vast majority of men and women don't get randomly accused of shit like this. Is it right for Funimation to fire his ass? No, but then again the VA market seems to be based on popularity, and it can't be a good idea to cast this guy in leading roles (which is what he will want to get) for niche content, which inherently is not easy to push and a risky endeavor.

I mean, the best "side" to take, really, is to believe that these accusations against Vic should require evidence given the serious nature of those said-allegations.

For me, it's hard to stay completely neutral when the VAs that have gone on this crusade against Vic have done so under falsehoods and flat-out lies.

The only VA in this entire shitshow who has kept his cool is, ironically, Vic. lol.

Yeah, I mean, it's hard to take the side of people who want the guy's balls, or are threatening to report you to homeland security... Or falsify swat attacks.

I agree that requesting evidence is the best stance...

But like MangaKamen said, the one thing that makes me roll my eyes is how the IstandwithVic youtubers are pumping out all these videos, most of them saying the same thing. And then them raking the views. It's just cringy to see them put out such low effort content and rake in the views.

Oh, I completely agree. A lot of these YouTubers post 10 videos a day based on a single tweet that someone involved posted. They can't even wait until the end of the day to do a "daily wrap-up" video; they have to post a video NOW because Sean Schemmel tweeted "asshole" to someone ten seconds ago. lol.

Hell, its happening right now, with them going on about this. Like, take that Hero Hei, who keeps doing livestreams like "Show me the evidence".

Not to get too off topic, but I remember this guy actually making a video that went against critics.

back onto topic, the flood of these videos all pretty much saying the same thing is one of the reasons why I (and I'm assuming MK) don't wanna say #istandwithVic. Because these guys are acting like piranhas and lapping up EVERY SINGLE LITTLE THING
and packaging it into a 10 minute + video.

I think it's hard to find anyone in this situation without them being some kind of creep. Sure, there's probably a lot of embellishment happening here, but the seed wouldn't be there to be grown with if he wasn't guilty of something. That's why I think it's wise to not put one's weight behind defending creeps like that, SJWs/Anti-SJWs be damned.

Normal people who respect basic boundaries and behave professionally just don't get into these shitstorms to begin with.

Unfortunately "No smoke without fire" is bullshit to the highest degree. Considering Rial's got a bunch of gigs off of this shit, and there's video out there of her acting perfectly buddy buddy with Vic when they've worked together in the past.... well people start being a bit fucking skeptical.

It's very easy to ruin a career these days on false accusations and bullshit made up stories.
