We need to talk about this.

We already have genetic material on Scandinavian hunter-gatherers. They had more diversity in skin tone than modern Scandinavians but they were not remotely connected to Africa's populations expect in the most loose way possible.

Wouldn't there skin color trend more towards tan and and darker shades of white vs pale? I wouldn't expect them to look African black at worst they most likely have the skin color of a Melado.

I suppose the Black Sea is "south", but I don't think that is what the people pushing this nonsense were going for. The Blue Eyes genetic marker has been definitively traced to a single female who lived by the Black Sea. She was probably a ginormous slut too, and her children probably engaged in a ton of incest sex because Blue Eyes are the result of a very specific genetic mutation that remains recessive. So her kids would have had brown eyes, but if they fucked each other the recessive trait would have manifested dominant.

Good money is that the tribes in the area saw blue eyes as some sort of divine favor, and this led to more fucking and babies born with blue eyes. Especially since if two people with blue eyes fuck, their kids will also have blue eyes. For a patriarchal tribal culture, this would have been immediately obvious, and also seen as a good way to insure the kids were actually the fathers. Which, lets face it, is always a constant concern. So over time the blue eyes were massively selected for, and spread north and west from the Black Sea.

There were no black people around the black sea though. Ironic.

As I said, we have genetic material from Scandinavian hunter-gatherers. We also have genetic material from other European hunter-gatherers. While some of them gained adaptions for lighter skin, others didn't.

I'd consider Amerindian populations actually a good proxy for non-light skin adapted Europeans.
